Mecca Bingo has been a staple in the UK gambling scene for many years, originally known for its bingo halls before moving online. As part of the Rank Group, it’s built a strong reputation, but does the online site offer something unique compared to its sister brands? In this Mecca Bingo review, we’ll look at everything from bingo and slots to withdrawals and customer support, to show you what works well, what could be improved, and to know before hitting that ‘Join’ button.
Mecca Bingo operates as part of The Rank Group. Initially, they started under the name Top Rank in 1961 however before The Rank Organisation acquired them.
As it usually is with large online casino chains like this one, Mecca is similar to its sister sites like Grosvenor Casino nearly in everything, from layout to banking etc. This time they went for something a bit different though, as you can guess from the name, Mecca has a larger bingo focus. Not only online but offline too, they regularly live events and maintain 55 physical locations across Britain.
Their efforts earned them multiple awards, from 2014 to 2016, Mecca won “Bingo Operator of the Year” three times. 2017 saw them win WhichBingo awards for Best Customer Services and Most Socially Responsible operator. In 2022, judges named it the best Playtech bingo site and praised its live-streaming quality and Mecca obtained a partnership with Britain’s Got Talent in the same year. And these are just a few of their accomplishments.
Still, Mecca Bingo had its own share of issues. In December 2015 UKGC imposed a £1 million fine on Rank Group over problem gambling failures. Yet the company adapted and improved its practices.

About Mecca Bingo
Mecca succeeded in carrying their bingo club atmosphere online, especially with their loyalty system that allows you to gain perks both online and offline simultaneously. Even if you’re not a fan of bingo, there are hundreds of casino games to try out. All the rewards in their portfolio fully back up their credibility and reputation.
Mecca Bingo online opts for a simple website layout that copies the usual Rank Group style. The theme is mainly white and purple. Such a predominantly white theme was too bright for our tastes, we’d much prefer a dark theme. At least the game icons add some nice colour to break up all that whiteness. Speaking of which, the white space on either side is a bit big and could be better utilised for sidebars or anything more useful.
There’s a clear menu at the top where you’ll find all the basics – Bingo, Slots, Slingo, Clubs, Promotions, Jackpots, Support, and Events. Right underneath sits another menu that breaks these down into smaller categories. This second menu came in really handy when we needed to find specific games without clicking through loads of pages.
The game section is right below the active promotion’s banner. What’s interesting about Mecca compared to other Rank Interactive casinos is how they’ve put bingo games right at the front. Makes sense for a bingo site – nice to see they know their audience. Each game category page has its own FAQ part at the bottom that tells you what you need to know about those specific games.
At the bottom of the site, Mecca puts all the important links and makes the safer gambling section easy to find. Performance-wise, everything went well on our end, with no lag and fast loading speeds on both desktop and mobile.

Mecca Bingo fills its slot section with over 2,500 online slots games. Great range of options, including Megaways, video, and classic reel slots. Games from dozens of top developers such as NetEnt, Pragmatic Play.
I tested Turbo Gold as it was one of the bonus-eligible games. The sound of each ball being drawn was annoying but the card management system worked well. Then I went for Mecca Big Bass At The Bingo, a recommended game. The gameplay was fun, but there were only small visual changes from the traditional game. 5 Lions Megaways caught my attention during the current Drops & Wins promotion. I liked the cascading wins but the animations took just way too long.

There are 34 games at Mecca, but they are heavily overlapped with slots. The range is good and the prizes are within the significant range (6/7 figures).
I gave Fishin’ Frenzy Jackpot King a shot, as it had a large potential jackpot. While I didn’t win anything, the 6-figure jackpot was well worth playing for. The free spins feature is a lot of fun too.

The table game section reveals Mecca’s biggest weakness. It’s extremely limited, you have only 3 live games and 2 animated games. Neither of these animated titles worked for us. Very disappointing.
I played ONE Blackjack as it was one of the only live casino games. I liked that there’s no limit to the number of players that can play at once but you can’t hear the dealer over the music.

With 44 Slingo games available, the Mecca selection is bigger than what most casinos provide, unsurprisingly so!
I tested Red Hot Slingo, which was one of the newer games on the site. I liked that there are 3 chances for each column per spin and that prizes can be won by matching symbols, sadly the gameplay goes too fast to enjoy it.
Slingoooal was another one I tried since as a footie fan I wanted to see how the football theme worked. I lost 60p across five rounds. The theme is fun overall but I didn’t like that you need 4 lines to win a prize.

For a site named after bingo’s holiest place, Mecca delivers on its promise. The bingo section runs 32 active rooms, pretty good for a website that also hosts a well-fledged casino. You have: 90-ball formats, 80-ball and 75-ball variants, plus rapid-fire 50-ball games. And as we just mentioned, you can play Slingo here too.
Rooms are nicely organised: standard bingo games, themed variants, and jackpot rooms are all separated. Every room preview shows crucial details – prize amounts, ticket costs, potential maximum payouts, and current player numbers. You can also hit the information button to reveal extra details about rules, countdown times, and playing tips.
What we didn’t like is how the Bingo games are played in a pop-up window. The window is so small and the screen is just too busy for such a size, you have to go full screen to see what’s going on.
During peak hours, Gold Bingo draws the biggest crowds. Deal or No Deal 75 Ball Bingo and Born in the USA maintain steady player numbers throughout the day. The main casino section pulls more traffic overall, but bingo rooms aren’t barren either.
Mecca Bingo launched a mobile app for its casino and bingo services on both Android and iOS.
On iOS, the app received positive feedback with a 4.4-star rating. Due to its small 15.72MB download size it’s light to install. Now, Android Mecca Bingo reviews show users unsatisfied with the app design and performance, leaving a 2.6-star rating. So we decided to test it.
And the test revealed some frustrating moments. The app itself installed quickly in less than 5 seconds, I couldn’t use my saved password from Google. I got the option to appear, but even after approving it the username/password boxes would remain empty. I managed to make it work, eventually, by ticking the “Don’t show again” box, then closing the app and re-opening it. Too much gymnastics for such a simple task!
I quickly found game categories in the menu. As for the loading speeds, they are good. Moving between parts of the app took 1-2 seconds at most. To be fair, I’m not a massive fan of the design as some game icons take up the whole screen whereas others are small. A strange decision, these could’ve easily been downsized to make the most of the limited space.

Mecca Bingo does a great job with its bingo section. We loved the number of bingo rooms available; for bingo fans, this site is great. On the other hand, the casino side leaves a lot to be desired. The game library of 3,000 titles sounds big, but the lack of proper filters is disappointing. We also found the table and live casino options lacking. With only 5 games for both in total, it’s clearly not a choice if these titles are must-haves for you. On the brighter side, Mecca provides detailed info about most of the games, like RTP.
The site has a good value welcome deal for new players, but the value for existing customers is just not there. The promos are also mainly bingo-focuses, slots barely get any deals. The limited payment methods and higher cashout limits also felt restrictive, especially when compared to other casinos out there. We loved the min £5 limit on deposits and withdrawals, a huge positive for Mecca.
All in all, Mecca Bingo provides a good starting point for bingo players but needs improvements to its casino offerings, site navigation, and payment options to make it a more competitive option in the UK market. If you aren’t deterred by these negatives, you might want to give it a go. It’s a good middle-of-the-pack option.

So I’ve been on Mecca for a bit now & honestly it’s a pretty decent place to play 🫶 had some fun wins, and the vibe's good. BUT heads up – ya really gotta read them T&Cs lol. Some bits in there feel kinda sneaky if u don’t catch ‘em early. I still play tho, just smarter now!
