Incepted two decades ago, Jackpotjoy is amongst the most recognised and gravitated names in UK-based online bingo, with more than 17 live bingo rooms. Our team has gone through every core feature in detail: from the performance on mobile through payout mechanisms to promotions and bingo functionalities. We also analysed user-submitted Jackpotjoy reviews to verify how the site delivers on its key promises.
“Who owns Jackpotjoy?” is a query often posed by UK players. The brand is operated by Gamesys Operations Limited, which is now operated by US-listed gaming and entertainment company Bally’s Corporation. In the UK, Jackpotjoy was launched in 2002 and quickly became a widely recognised brand for online bingo and slots.

Jackpotjoy also has several awards, reflecting the company’s significant role in the UK Gambling industry. In 2018, Jackpotjoy won Online Bingo Operator of the Year at the Global Gaming Awards, Brand of the Year at the EGR Marketing and Innovation Awards in 2019, and, more recently, in 2023, was awarded Best Proprietary Bingo Site at the BingoPort Player’s Choice Awards.
Despite its strong customer base, Jackpotjoy’s operator, Gamesys Operations Limited, was fined £6 million in January 2024 by the UK Gambling Commission because it had shortcomings with its anti-money laundering and social responsibility measures, which were contested in its report from November 2021 to July 2022. Gamesys advised that as part of the settlement, it would submit itself to a review by a third party to resolve the failings.
Previously, in a 2019 BBC Panorama report, the program, which raised concerns after a player lost over £600,000 on the site, claimed that the player received promotional offers throughout their loss. Although Gamesys did not dispute the claims, it regretted what had occurred and helped awaken public discourse around the inadequacy of responsible gambling policies.
The blue and white colour scheme is fine – it adds some personality without going too crazy. The design is neat, with large buttons and titles for Slots, Live Casino, Bingo, and Table Games. Essential features like deposits are easily found because of the classy layout.
The large white spaces on either side of the page feel like wasted space that could be used to show more games, promotions, or account tools. The overall layout is clear but slightly underutilised, especially on desktop.
The game library would benefit from filtering options or the ability to view all titles within a chosen category. A better search function would also improve usability, as current results can be hit or miss unless you enter the exact game name.
Jackpotjoy is more rooted in its bingo heritage and relies on established brand imagery than sister sites like Virgin Games and Monopoly Casino. While mobile players may find the interface compact and efficient, desktop users might notice areas where the layout and browsing could be improved.

Jackpotjoy Casino can be accessed on all major mobile devices, including Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. The mobile site is fully responsive, well-organised, and provides users with complete access to games, deposits, promotions, and account tools. All game thumbnails resize appropriately, and the mobile site maintains navigation in line with the desktop version, allowing existing users to switch devices easily.
Not all desktop games are available on mobile, but the bulk of the library, particularly bingo and top slot titles, are fully compatible. Jackpotjoy also has dedicated mobile apps, each fitting their device.
The app took less than five seconds to download, and location consent was needed before opening. The login process was easy, as it remembered saved passwords, and there was an option for biometric login, which offered both speed and security. The app’s layout closely mirrors the desktop version, allowing users to move between sections easily.
The app included a navigation menu with games and promotions, making it easier to access gaming options with one thumb on a smaller screen than a search box. Games loaded fast, played conveniently, and there were no game lags or crashes throughout testing on 4G network capabilities. The app had a demo mode I found helpful, which is unique, as many don’t offer it.

Jackpotjoy has a small but functioning sports betting section designed for recreational bettors. Access is limited to specific invited members. The variety of sports offered is very limited. Instead of a full sportsbook that encompasses markets on football, tennis, or horse racing, they only offer outright golf betting (i.e., for the US Open) and virtual betting with an emphasis on Virtual Horse Racing and Virtual Greyhounds.
The promotion is a 25% profit boost in the US open outright winner market. A single £10 bet at 2/1 odds could return £35 instead of £30. Meanwhile, fans of simulated action can take advantage of weekly 20% boosts on Virtual Horse Racing and Greyhounds, again with modest stakes and a clear cap on additional profit (£100 max).
However, there’s no public sports welcome bonus, putting Jackpotjoy behind many sportsbook competitors. And with no access to broader market types like accumulators or in-play betting, the appeal is narrow.
Jackpotjoy’s sports section feels like a bonus add-on rather than a full feature. The Profit Boosts can be rewarding, but won’t satisfy serious punters looking for betting depth.

Jackpotjoy’s standout feature remains the breadth of gaming types – bringing together bingo, poker, slingo, crash games, and more within a single account. This variety is rarely matched on other UK sites. Nevertheless, usability cannot be ignored. The site is missing fundamental sorting features, it is cluttered, and the lack of RTP made finding games during our review slower than normal.
The casino does score points for quick card withdrawals and low-stakes bingo access, but the long-term and consistent poor Jackpot Joy reviews we found, along with the 1.5-star Trustpilot rating, are hard to shake. We rate it 3.2 out of 5.
After checking out all the key areas, here’s what stood out – both good and bad.
