Bet Types

In addition to the standard blackjack bet, Lucky Blackjack includes the side bet. You place it in the Lucky betting area below each active hand. It is settled from your first two cards and the dealer’s upcard, so it can pay even if your main hand later loses. You can add this bet to one hand, several hands, or all active hands.

Insurance is also offered when the dealer’s upcard is an Ace. This side wager costs half your original bet and pays 2:1 if the dealer has blackjack.

Also, it’s important to note that there is no time limit on placing bets. The casino game waits for your action before dealing the cards.

The side bet is separate from the main bet and is played before your main hand is played. And it’s really useful when deciding if to double down. But I would still treat it as an extra stake rather than the main reason to play every hand.

Features

There is no bonus game or progressive jackpot here, so you should look for blackjack bonuses through casino offers instead of bonus rounds. All the value is in the built-in rules.

First, Split is available when your first two cards match. Each split hand is then played on its own, with hit and double options. Aces can be split once, with one extra card dealt to each hand. If you split Aces and receive a 10-value card, the result counts as 21, not blackjack.

Double down is available on any first two cards, including after a split. If the dealer shows an Ace and has blackjack, you lose the full doubled stake. If the dealer has a 10-value blackjack, the doubled part is returned.

Insurance appears when the dealer shows an Ace. It costs half your main bet and pays 2:1 if the dealer has blackjack. It does not affect the side bet.

10-Card Charlie gives an automatic win if your hand reaches ten cards without busting, unless the dealer has blackjack. This rule also applies to split hands.

The main payout lift comes from the side bet. Its top result is suited 7-7-7, which pays 200:1.

I learned from personal interaction that this dealer is not looking for a blackjack. Doubling down against an ace that turned into a natural 21 completely wiped out my side bet in one go. Personally, I have found that changing my basic strategy to refrain from doubling down when that dealer ace is looking at you is the smartest way to protect your bankroll.
