    Pokerstars Casino Review

PokerStars Casino has been a major name in online poker for years, with both its casino and sportsbook gaining quite an audience. While poker is by far the main focus here, the casino section has expanded significantly, and the sportsbook draws plenty of action as well. In this review, we take a close look at PokerStars Casino to see how it lives up to the hype in terms of games, customer service, and promo code options they offer.

    About PokerStars Casino

PokerStars Casino Online is one of the biggest names in online gambling, and it’s not just because of poker. It started in 2001 as a poker site and quickly became the largest online poker operator in the world, controlling more than two-thirds of the market. In 2015, the brand expanded into casino and sports betting, and so it turned into a full gambling site. The company running it, Rational Intellectual Holdings Limited, is part of Flutter Entertainment, which owns some of the biggest betting brands, including Betfair, Paddy Power, and Sky Betting & Gaming.

Given its reputation, it doesn’t come as a surprise that PokerStars has won multiple awards, including Poker Operator of the Year at the International Gaming Awards. While its casino side is newer, it holds its own with games from NetEnt, Microgaming, and Playtech, some of the biggest names in the industry.

The brand has never been blacklisted or fined, maintaining a spotless reputation. It operates under strict regulations. It has also expanded into regulated U.S. states and several European countries, including Italy and Slovenia, further establishing itself as a global operator.

Parent Company Name Rational Intellectual Holdings Limited
    Website pokerstars.uk
Head Office Douglas Bay Complex, King Edward Road, Onchan, Isle of Man, IM3 1DZ
    CEO Rafael Ashkenazi
    Company size/Employees 1001-5000

PokerStars appeals most to poker players who also like casino games. Those looking for a poker-first experience with solid casino options will find what they need, and slot players will enjoy their time too. Its reputation, high-profile partnerships with Usain Bolt and Kevin Hart, and strong licensing make it one of the most trusted names in the industry.

PokerStars has built a solid reputation over the years. It holds licences in multiple jurisdictions, including the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC – licence number 39108) and the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA/B2C/213/2011). As it’s licensed in multiple regions, the PokerStars must follow tough regulations on fairness, financial security, and responsible gambling.

A good reputation isn’t just about licences; PokerStars has never been blacklisted or fined. Cybersecurity is another priority, your data here is protected by SSL encryption, there’s also a 2FA which we were pleased to see, we didn’t run into this feature often at all. The casino also encourages responsible gaming with parental control tools like SafeKids and NetNanny, helping block underage access. Of course, there are also checks during the registration which seed out any user under the age of 18.

Players can set deposit and betting limits, take cooling-off breaks, or opt for self-exclusion through GAMSTOP, which blocks access to all UKGC-licensed sites. Casino provides links to support organisations like GamCare, BeGambleAware, and the National Gambling Treatment Service too in case users may need professional support. There’s also a self-check quiz that doesn’t sugarcoat things, and a section debunking common myths about gambling that’s better than most we’ve seen. The site also provides bank-level blocking options, allowing players to restrict gambling transactions directly. We really like how in-depth they went with all this.

PokerStars is well licensed, the tools are easy to find and use, and the security holds up. We’d call it one of the more thorough setups out there.

First Thoughts About the Casino Interface

PokerStars Casino keeps things clean and organised with a black, white, and red colour scheme that’s been part of its branding for years, we actually find it fantastic. Navigation here is easy, all important stuff like Casino, Poker, and Sports sections, along with Deposit, Account, Help, and Promos are available with no scrolling. It is pretty obvious, however, that the casino part of the website doesn’t feel like the main deal, it feels like it’s playing second fiddle to the poker section.

We were interested in Casino News and Poker Blog sections, these provide updates on tournaments, new games, and promotions, which adds some value beyond just playing. The site loads quickly, even with animations running in the background.

Navigation & Menus All key sections are at the top, no unnecessary sidebars.
Performance Loads quickly, even with animations.
Clarity No clutter, easy to find important sections.
Extra Features Casino News and Poker Blog for updates.

    PokerStars Usability Aspects

PokerStars Casino balances its massive size with usability well. The site is easy to navigate, loads quickly, and doesn’t throw distractions in the way. It might not be the most visually striking casino, but it’s perfectly fine.

PokerStars Casino has 15 deposit methods, all instant and fee-free. Now that’s a quantity we’d like to see!

That said, the casino runs on USD only, so all deposits are converted using PokerStars’ real-time exchange rate. While players can still deposit in GBP, the balance will always be shown in USD, which also affects minimum deposit limits. Instead of a fixed £10 minimum, it adjusts to match $10 USD. Strange thing, there were no warnings about it and we were taken by surprise during our top-up.

I tested this casino by depositing £10 via Visa, which required an OTP confirmation. After the transaction was completed, my balance showed $11.88 instead of GBP due to the currency conversion. Later, I opened the game and the balance switched back to £9.69, so I lost £0.31 in the conversion without any prior warning. Since games run in GBP, I’m confused why they would need to make deposits in USD, what’s worse, no way to opt out of it.

We liked the number of methods you can use here, though it would be nice to be clear with the conversion on top-ups.

PokerStars Casino presents only several welcome bonuses, including a no deposit option, but when it comes to existing player deals, there’s barely anything. Still, be careful while reading terms, these are quite difficult to read, especially regarding wagering requirements. Some deals require promo codes, so be mindful of that too.

    Casino Welcome Bonus

New PokerStars players can claim a 100% deposit match up to £500, plus 50 free spins. All you need to do is deposit £20 or more with the PokerStars promo code FIRST500. Keep in mind, this offer only applies to debit card deposits. eWallets and bank transfers don’t qualify, sadly.

Unlike other casinos that use standard wagering requirements, PokerStars requires players to earn redemption points before withdrawing bonus funds. This system isn’t well explained, we weren’t huge fans of it at all. You must earn 2 redemption points per £1 of Casino Instant Bonus awarded before the bonus expires.

    Poker Welcome Bonus

Poker players have a separate PokerStars sign up offer: a £10 in Spin & Go tickets. To claim this, players need to deposit at least £10 using the pokerstars voucher code SPIN. Unlike the casino bonus, this deal applies to more deposit methods, including Apple Pay.

    No Deposit Deal

PokerStars has a massive no deposit bonus available to new users – 150 Free Spins on select games. To opt-in and receive the first 50 spins, register Stars account through the Casino page and then verify it. You will get the second batch of 50 in 36 hours and the final 50 spins will arrive within 72 hours after account verification. This promotion is available on debit cards only and wagering requirements do apply to the bonus, so be mindful of that.

    Other Promotions

PokerStars doesn’t overload you with bonuses, you won’t find referral code deals here or much reload bonuses. The few offers that are available tend to have decent long-term value, especially if you’re already active across casino or poker:

    • Apollo 20% Cashback: Every Wednesday, play 100 spins on any slot and get 20% of net losses back as a Casino Instant Bonus. This one triggers automatically once the spin count is hit, and the bonus lands quickly after. No deposit bonus code needed.
    • Slot Challenges: These challenges pop up regularly and revolve around specific games. You’ll usually need to complete a set number of spins or trigger certain features to qualify. Among the rewards you can grab are Casino Instant Bonuses. Slots change often, so you will not get bored.
    • Casino Races: Leaderboards that offer prizes based on points earned from playing casino games. Daily and weekly prize pools. When we first went to the Casino Races page it said that they were unavailable but when I checked later they were there, we guess these may take a while to load. Not quite a free spins no deposit deal, but you can grab some extra rounds here.
    • Zoom Poker 2x Reward Points: Available through “Early Bird Zoom.” If you’re one of the first ten players to start a 6-Max game (NLH or PLO) with blinds up to $2.50/$5.00, you’ll double your Reward Points. Once the game hits 10 players, you still keep the boost for another 10 minutes. This can be repeated across four entries per stake level, and if the player count drops below 10 again, the boost reactivates indefinitely.
    • New Player Challenges: Newcomers get a 16-task challenge board that covers all main poker types. To activate it, just make a real-money deposit and opt in from the Challenges Window within 21 days. After finishing three tasks, you unlock a freeroll ticket valid for 30 days. These freerolls run every Saturday at 15:00 ET and have a $5,000 prize pool. The actual prizes vary from Power Path tickets to up to $1,000 in cash.

PokerStars promo selection is lean, and most of the deals revolve around tournament activity rather than traditional deals with PokerStars deposit codes. If you’re already grinding their tables or working through their slots, though, there’s enough here to pick up some extra value on the side. Their no deposit deal is also quite big compared to the ones we’ve seen at other casinos.

PokerStars ties its loyalty Programme to a Chest system built around Reward Points. Any real-money wager fills a progress bar, and once full, that bar cracks open a Chest. The contents are random: bonus funds, free spins, or StarsCoin, with the value increasing as you climb through six tiers: Blue to Black. Five Chests in 28 days moves you up a level, fail to hit that, and you’re dropped to a lower tier with fewer rewards, but lower unlock thresholds too.

Poker players will be the ones who benefit the most from this programme. Players earn 100 points for every $1 spent on rake or tournament fees. Those raking in $50,000 a year qualify for PokerStars Select, a status that gives 50% rakeback paid out daily. At $100,000, that jumps to 60% through Select+, though that level clearly isn’t built for casuals. Meanwhile, slot or table game players won’t find any fixed cashback rates here, which makes it difficult to weigh the system’s value. They explain the earning rates quite well on the dedicated page https://www.pokerstars.uk/casino/redemption-points/.

PokerStars Casino has a massive selection of over 4,000 games, split into slots, jackpots, Megaways, table games, instant win titles, and live dealer options. Not everything gets the same treatment though, some categories feel neglected, like table games and instant games. Bingo is missing altogether, which we found unusual for a casino of this size.

The interface is easy to use but could be better. Games are divided into broad categories, but there’s no real filtering system, so it was difficult to sort through the options. You can use the search bar to look up specific games or providers, but that’s about it. Games open in a pop-up window, not on the webpage which we didn’t like much. If a player forgets to close one before opening another, the site won’t let a new game load.

Performance is solid across all devices. Games load quickly, and there are no major lag issues. One of the biggest letdowns is the lack of demo mode, we really would love to see it here. Most games have a small information page displaying pay lines and features, no RTP information though which is disappointing.

    Slots

PokerStars Casino has a massive 4,000+ slot collection, featuring classic fruit machines, video slots, Megaways titles, and jackpots. The variety is impressive, with games from top providers like NetEnt, Play’n GO, and Yggdrasil, plus a few exclusive slots.

I played Legacy of Dead, a well-known slot that stood out for its polished design and rewarding bonus features. Diamond Stars, an exclusive game, has a futuristic take on classic slots, but the limited paylines make it feel restrictive. Sticky Fruits, a jackpot slot, kept things interesting with Sticky Wild Respins and a Border Bonus feature that rewards consistent play. Megaways Buffalo Rising was another solid choice, offering thousands of ways to win, which kept the action unpredictable.

    Table Games

PokerStars has just 27 table games, a disappointingly limited number of options, but a good range of video poker games, which is not surprising.

    Table Games at PokerStars Casino

I played Super Jackpot 25, a video poker game with a jackpot for landing a royal flush while betting max coins. It was also the first game I tried that ran in USD instead of GBP. Next, I tried Premium Blackjack, my personal favourite. The £0.50 minimum bet made it accessible, but the repetitive voiceover got old quickly.

You will mainly find poker tables, roulette, blackjack, and baccarat games here though. The selection is good, but we didn’t test any of these games firsthand.

    Instant Win Games

PokerStars drops the ball on instant win games, there are just 18 of them. The selection is small, and several games are near duplicates of each other.

    Game Developer RTP Release Date

    Table Games at PokerStars Casino

I played Scratch 4 Rubies, one of four nearly identical scratch cards. The fixed £2 ticket price was disappointing since most scratch games offer variable stakes. Grabba Dabba Dough was more entertaining because of its interactive mechanics. Winning a free go after every win kept it fun for longer.

    Jordan ConroyJordan Conroy Editor

    Poker

PokerStars calls itself the home of online poker, and it’s easy to see why. The site leans heavily into tournaments and cash tables, with more formats than most will ever need: No-Limit Hold’em, Omaha, Flash, and Max; all spread across dozens of tables and stakes that start as low as £0.25. Tournaments are the real highlight here, though. Every day brings something new, with sit-and-gos running non-stop and major international events being the most common tourneys. The big seasonal series also pull in some serious numbers.

The only catch is that the full range isn’t available in-browser. You can play the basics just fine through a web tab, but most of the good stuff sits behind the downloadable PokerStars client. That includes the bulk of tournaments and the deeper lobby features. It’s not a dealbreaker, but if you’re just dropping by for a few games, you’ll likely be missing out.

There’s also a decent amount of support for newer players. There’s a Learn to Play section with basic hand rules and beginner tips, and the PokerStars are also often live on Twitch, where partnered pros stream games and talk strategy live.

Poker clearly gets the most love at PokerStars, to no one’s surprise. The casino section tries to match the same levels, but comes up short, mostly due to the lack of filters and not the best game variety outside of slots. If you’re here for the cards, though, you won’t be left disappointed.

    Mobile Gaming

PokerStars works well on both desktop and mobile, with no major difference between the two. They have two apps, one for Casino and the other one for Poker. Both are available on Android and iOS.

The design of the app is similar to the desktop site in colour scheme. Games load quickly, there’s no lag. However, the file size is quite large at 124MB, now that’s a lot for a casino app.

    • Download Android Casino App
      3.9 1730 ratings
    • Download iPhone Casino App

I downloaded and installed the Casino app in under 15 seconds. As I opened it, I was asked to enable geolocation, a pop-up explained why I needed to do so. Sadly, I wasn’t able to use my saved password from Google, so I had to enter everything manually. Once I logged in, I set up a biometric login.

The app keeps asking for permission to search for nearby devices, was not sure why that would be necessary. If you don’t enable it, it keeps requesting it every few minutes. I also was annoyed that the game wouldn’t let me play real money games without this enabled. That said, I think the app is a better casino platform, the focus is solely on the casino games and doesn’t feel like an afterthought.

    Jordan ConroyJordan Conroy Editor

For players who prefer mobile, the app works well. You will find everything from the desktop here, shame about the lack of a demo even on mobile.

PokerStars offers 12 withdrawal options, which match the deposit methods. All transactions are processed in USD, meaning transactions made in GBP are converted at PokerStars’ exchange rate. This also affects withdrawal limits, as the minimum amount must meet the $10 requirement rather than a direct GBP equivalent. Processing is advertised as instant, but actual payout times depend on the method used. You can reach out to support easily from the withdrawal screen, but only through the chat, since there’s no phone number available.

A 3% processing fee applies to all withdrawals, but this isn’t shown anywhere in the process. The system only displays an error message saying a minimum balance of $10 is required, without explaining that the fee affects the final amount.

I tried withdrawing £8.22, which should have been possible since the stated minimum is £8. The system initially directed the funds to my Visa, but then asked me to choose a method. The Visa option was unavailable, even though my balance met the minimum. I switched to USD, but the same error appeared. After contacting support, I was told that a hidden 3% processing fee meant I needed more than $10 to complete the transaction. The error message didn’t clarify this, just stating that I needed at least $10 in my account, which I already had.

    KYC

PokerStars runs an automated verification system, and in our case, the account was approved as soon as we signed up. We didn’t need to submit any documents, but if the system can’t confirm a player’s details, it immediately asks for additional verification upon login. If that happens, there’s no way to access the account until the documents are submitted. Document upload option is available within the “Cashier” section, it takes just a few clicks to submit the files.

While there isn’t a dedicated verification category in the FAQ, there are more than a dozen questions covering the topic, providing detailed info.

Withdrawals at PokerStars are pretty fast and the variety is amazing. However, they have the same issue as deposits – hidden conversion. The processing fee on small cashouts also took us off guard, it would be better if the casino was more transparent about it.

PokerStars support is limited to live chat and an FAQ section. Email support used to be available, but has since been removed and there’s no contact number listed. The help page can be accessed by clicking “Help” in the top right corner of the homepage, which redirects to a separate page.

The FAQ section has 11 categories, each with dozens of questions. We found it useful for common issues. All of the questions have detailed answers, providing you with a useful source of info.

Live Chat is the only means of communication here and we really wish it would be easier and faster to access.

    Support Method Availability Response Time
Live Chat 24/7 2+ hours to connect
    FAQ Section 24/7 Instant
    Email Support ❌ Removed N/A
Phone Support ❌ No Phone Contact Number Available N/A

Once I clicked the chat button, I was greeted by a digital assistant. I tried asking him manually, but the bot “didn’t understand” my question, so I had to navigate a short menu tree before I could contact an agent. I was waiting for more than an hour to be transferred and still hadn’t talked to an agent. So I decided to quit and rejoin, and this time it took me more than 2 hours to get connected.

I asked about changing my primary currency from USD to GBP, withdrawal limits and support via phone. The responses were clear and polite but lacked extra detail. While my questions were answered, I wasn’t given any additional help or resources.

PokerStars support is okay. The FAQ is decent for common questions, but if live chat is needed, expect long wait times, and actual hours. The agents themselves are professional though and you will get informative answers.

    Sportsbook Section

We weren’t expecting much from PokerStars Sports, since the site has always been about poker first. But we have to admit the sportsbook here is comparable to their Casino. There are over 35 sports on the list, with the usual range from football and tennis to US leagues, racing, MMA, and even esports. Football clearly dominates, it’s packed with matches from every major and minor league you can think of.

Instead of hiding everything in a left-hand menu like most bookies, PokerStars puts its six biggest sports in a row across the top. It works, even if it takes a moment to adjust. The full A–Z list sits in the corner if you need to go broader. Clicking any sport brings up its own categories, usually matches, outrights, or live events. You can find your way around easily once you get your bearings.

Betting options are as expected. Singles, multis, system bets, and each-way all sit in the bet slip to the right. There’s also a feature called Superbet, you can ask for higher stakes than the posted limit, and if they say yes, you’re in. Live streams aren’t a thing here, which stings a bit in a field where that’s become pretty standard.

Promos don’t really exist unless there’s a tournament on. Still, expect sports bonuses to pop up during the Champions League, World Cup, or similar events, but otherwise, you’re left with the standard odds and no regular extras. Some regular deals may require you to use bonus code for existing players

    Final Words

PokerStars is massive, no other way to put it. The game count alone is pushing past 4,000, which already places it in a different league from most sites. Add the sportsbook and poker rooms into the mix, and you’ve got one of the most packed online gambling hubs out there. Still, it’s not without problems. The missing game filters slow things down, it’s a shame because, with this much content, the site could be easier to use.

There are 10+ ways to deposit and cash out, though the currency handling for UK players feels like a quiet drawback. As a UK player, you will deposit in pounds, but at PokerStars, transactions go through dollars, and the exchange rates aren’t always in your favour. There’s also a fee on smaller withdrawals, we wish PokerStars were more transparent about it. Promo selection isn’t the biggest here, after you use a bonus code to grab your sign up bonus, there’s basically nothing for existing users. As long as you are aware of all these downsides, you might enjoy your time here.

After checking out all the key areas, here’s what stood out – both good and bad.

    • Over 4,000 games
    • Well-developed sportsbook
    • No fees on deposits or withdrawals
    • Fast processing times for most cashouts
    • Their poker section remains one of the best online
    • All transactions are converted to USD
    • No provider filter makes browsing difficult
