PokerStars Casino has been a major name in online poker for years, with both its casino and sportsbook gaining quite an audience. While poker is by far the main focus here, the casino section has expanded significantly, and the sportsbook draws plenty of action as well. In this review, we take a close look at PokerStars Casino to see how it lives up to the hype in terms of games, customer service, and promo code options they offer.
PokerStars Casino Online is one of the biggest names in online gambling, and it’s not just because of poker. It started in 2001 as a poker site and quickly became the largest online poker operator in the world, controlling more than two-thirds of the market. In 2015, the brand expanded into casino and sports betting, and so it turned into a full gambling site. The company running it, Rational Intellectual Holdings Limited, is part of Flutter Entertainment, which owns some of the biggest betting brands, including Betfair, Paddy Power, and Sky Betting & Gaming.
Given its reputation, it doesn’t come as a surprise that PokerStars has won multiple awards, including Poker Operator of the Year at the International Gaming Awards. While its casino side is newer, it holds its own with games from NetEnt, Microgaming, and Playtech, some of the biggest names in the industry.
The brand has never been blacklisted or fined, maintaining a spotless reputation. It operates under strict regulations. It has also expanded into regulated U.S. states and several European countries, including Italy and Slovenia, further establishing itself as a global operator.

PokerStars appeals most to poker players who also like casino games. Those looking for a poker-first experience with solid casino options will find what they need, and slot players will enjoy their time too. Its reputation, high-profile partnerships with Usain Bolt and Kevin Hart, and strong licensing make it one of the most trusted names in the industry.
PokerStars Casino keeps things clean and organised with a black, white, and red colour scheme that’s been part of its branding for years, we actually find it fantastic. Navigation here is easy, all important stuff like Casino, Poker, and Sports sections, along with Deposit, Account, Help, and Promos are available with no scrolling. It is pretty obvious, however, that the casino part of the website doesn’t feel like the main deal, it feels like it’s playing second fiddle to the poker section.
We were interested in Casino News and Poker Blog sections, these provide updates on tournaments, new games, and promotions, which adds some value beyond just playing. The site loads quickly, even with animations running in the background.

PokerStars Usability Aspects
PokerStars Casino balances its massive size with usability well. The site is easy to navigate, loads quickly, and doesn’t throw distractions in the way. It might not be the most visually striking casino, but it’s perfectly fine.

PokerStars Casino has a massive 4,000+ slot collection, featuring classic fruit machines, video slots, Megaways titles, and jackpots. The variety is impressive, with games from top providers like NetEnt, Play’n GO, and Yggdrasil, plus a few exclusive slots.
I played Legacy of Dead, a well-known slot that stood out for its polished design and rewarding bonus features. Diamond Stars, an exclusive game, has a futuristic take on classic slots, but the limited paylines make it feel restrictive. Sticky Fruits, a jackpot slot, kept things interesting with Sticky Wild Respins and a Border Bonus feature that rewards consistent play. Megaways Buffalo Rising was another solid choice, offering thousands of ways to win, which kept the action unpredictable.

PokerStars has just 27 table games, a disappointingly limited number of options, but a good range of video poker games, which is not surprising.

Game | Developer | RTP | Release Date |
---|---|---|---|
Super Jackpot 25 | Unknown | 97.80% | 2018 |
Premium Blackjack | Playtech | 99.58% | 2017 |
Deuces Wild | N/A | 97.11% | 2016 |
Table Games at PokerStars Casino
I played Super Jackpot 25, a video poker game with a jackpot for landing a royal flush while betting max coins. It was also the first game I tried that ran in USD instead of GBP. Next, I tried Premium Blackjack, my personal favourite. The £0.50 minimum bet made it accessible, but the repetitive voiceover got old quickly.

PokerStars has over 100 live dealer games, not bad. That includes classic tables, game shows, and exclusive PokerStars-branded rooms.
Game | Developer | RTP | Release Date |
---|---|---|---|
Lightning Roulette | Evolution | 97.10% | 2018 |
PokerStars Blackjack | PokerStars | 99.29% | 2020 |
Live Games at PokerStars Casino
You will mainly find poker tables, roulette, blackjack, and baccarat games here though. The selection is good, but we didn’t test any of these games firsthand.
PokerStars drops the ball on instant win games, there are just 18 of them. The selection is small, and several games are near duplicates of each other.
Game | Developer | RTP | Release Date |
---|---|---|---|
Scratch 4 Rubies | Original | 85.00% | 2019 |
Grabba Dabba Dough | Original | 90.00% | 2021 |
Fishin Frenzy Prize Lines | Blueprint | 81.00% | 2022 |
Table Games at PokerStars Casino
I played Scratch 4 Rubies, one of four nearly identical scratch cards. The fixed £2 ticket price was disappointing since most scratch games offer variable stakes. Grabba Dabba Dough was more entertaining because of its interactive mechanics. Winning a free go after every win kept it fun for longer.

PokerStars calls itself the home of online poker, and it’s easy to see why. The site leans heavily into tournaments and cash tables, with more formats than most will ever need: No-Limit Hold’em, Omaha, Flash, and Max; all spread across dozens of tables and stakes that start as low as £0.25. Tournaments are the real highlight here, though. Every day brings something new, with sit-and-gos running non-stop and major international events being the most common tourneys. The big seasonal series also pull in some serious numbers.
The only catch is that the full range isn’t available in-browser. You can play the basics just fine through a web tab, but most of the good stuff sits behind the downloadable PokerStars client. That includes the bulk of tournaments and the deeper lobby features. It’s not a dealbreaker, but if you’re just dropping by for a few games, you’ll likely be missing out.
There’s also a decent amount of support for newer players. There’s a Learn to Play section with basic hand rules and beginner tips, and the PokerStars are also often live on Twitch, where partnered pros stream games and talk strategy live.
PokerStars works well on both desktop and mobile, with no major difference between the two. They have two apps, one for Casino and the other one for Poker. Both are available on Android and iOS.
The design of the app is similar to the desktop site in colour scheme. Games load quickly, there’s no lag. However, the file size is quite large at 124MB, now that’s a lot for a casino app.
I downloaded and installed the Casino app in under 15 seconds. As I opened it, I was asked to enable geolocation, a pop-up explained why I needed to do so. Sadly, I wasn’t able to use my saved password from Google, so I had to enter everything manually. Once I logged in, I set up a biometric login.
The app keeps asking for permission to search for nearby devices, was not sure why that would be necessary. If you don’t enable it, it keeps requesting it every few minutes. I also was annoyed that the game wouldn’t let me play real money games without this enabled. That said, I think the app is a better casino platform, the focus is solely on the casino games and doesn’t feel like an afterthought.

We weren’t expecting much from PokerStars Sports, since the site has always been about poker first. But we have to admit the sportsbook here is comparable to their Casino. There are over 35 sports on the list, with the usual range from football and tennis to US leagues, racing, MMA, and even esports. Football clearly dominates, it’s packed with matches from every major and minor league you can think of.
Instead of hiding everything in a left-hand menu like most bookies, PokerStars puts its six biggest sports in a row across the top. It works, even if it takes a moment to adjust. The full A–Z list sits in the corner if you need to go broader. Clicking any sport brings up its own categories, usually matches, outrights, or live events. You can find your way around easily once you get your bearings.
Betting options are as expected. Singles, multis, system bets, and each-way all sit in the bet slip to the right. There’s also a feature called Superbet, you can ask for higher stakes than the posted limit, and if they say yes, you’re in. Live streams aren’t a thing here, which stings a bit in a field where that’s become pretty standard.
Promos don’t really exist unless there’s a tournament on. Still, expect sports bonuses to pop up during the Champions League, World Cup, or similar events, but otherwise, you’re left with the standard odds and no regular extras. Some regular deals may require you to use bonus code for existing players
PokerStars is massive, no other way to put it. The game count alone is pushing past 4,000, which already places it in a different league from most sites. Add the sportsbook and poker rooms into the mix, and you’ve got one of the most packed online gambling hubs out there. Still, it’s not without problems. The missing game filters slow things down, it’s a shame because, with this much content, the site could be easier to use.
There are 10+ ways to deposit and cash out, though the currency handling for UK players feels like a quiet drawback. As a UK player, you will deposit in pounds, but at PokerStars, transactions go through dollars, and the exchange rates aren’t always in your favour. There’s also a fee on smaller withdrawals, we wish PokerStars were more transparent about it. Promo selection isn’t the biggest here, after you use a bonus code to grab your sign up bonus, there’s basically nothing for existing users. As long as you are aware of all these downsides, you might enjoy your time here.
After checking out all the key areas, here’s what stood out – both good and bad.
