Known first and foremost for its poker tournaments, GGPoker has been quietly expanding its casino side, and many are curious about how it compares to other UK operators. In this GGPoker Casino review, we test the site ourselves to see if it delivers more than just strong poker branding. What we checked includes the games, coupon code availability, promotions, support, and more.
GGPoker started in 2017 under NSUS Limited, an Irish-origin company set up by poker players who wanted to build their own house instead of playing in someone else’s. They had their goal simple from the start: make poker less rigid and more fun to return to after work or study.
Although the company is still pretty young, it has already earned a few achievements. To start, besides the UK, it expanded fast through Germany, Canada, and the Netherlands.
We appreciate how the brand managed to turn a small project into something recognised across several markets in only a few years. The team even took home the PokerListings Operator of the Year 2020 award, as well as three awards from PokerListings in 2023. As of the most recent, they also won EGR Operator Awards in 2024 and 2025.
Today, GGPoker operates a much wider network that also includes GG Vegas, its casino branch. That doesn’t mean GGPoker omits slot games and video table games at all. In fact, it has quite a stocked game library. It’s clear, though, that poker is the part GGPoker wants you to notice most and what they put the most marketing into.

About GGPoker Casino
Neither GGPoker nor its parent company has found itself in any legal issues. You won’t find its name in any blacklists either.
GGPoker drops you straight into the action, given how they structured their layout. The homepage gives you a tournament schedule, a few short poker guides, and updates on live events, but not much else. That’s because you’re not supposed to play here – you have to download and install the GGPoker software to play, you can’t do it via your web browser, which is disappointing.
Indeed, GGPoker is clearly a poker site first and a casino site second. This is evident as the Casino and Live Casino sections are relegated to icons at the top of the page. The decision to split the casino into three categories at the top of the Poker page isn’t great; having to move between different parts can be annoying.
Users can only play on a downloadable client – nothing available on the web. That means you won’t get instant access through a browser. I had to download the software first before even reaching the casino. Luckily, it took me around 5 minutes to complete the installation.
Once installed, I started the registration. Signing up is quite an in-depth process when compared to other sites. Both email and mobile verification are required. You create a GGPass, which gives you access to an account, and you need to provide additional info like name, address, etc., once it’s up and running. Feels a lot more complicated than other sites and could definitely be streamlined.

There’s no option to play on a mobile browser, so if you want to access the casino on your phone, the app is the only way.
The GGPoker app is available at both Android and iOS stores, and it was easy to download. I installed it in about 15 seconds, but then came a required update of around 300MB, which delayed things by another minute.
Once inside, the casino icons are easy to spot, but there’s no quick way to jump into the live casino section. The home screen layout closely resembles that of the desktop client, featuring the same tabs at the top. Pressing the back arrow eventually brings up the list of live dealer games, but it shouldn’t take this many clicks to get there.
Moving between sections felt sluggish for me; each tap took a second or two to register. Game load times were also rather long; some took 20 seconds or more to start, especially during heavier games.
The app weighs in at 90.54MB, which is larger than average for UK casinos. This doesn’t cause issues directly, but it does reflect the size of their poker software.

GGPoker is a poker-first hub that happens to include a decent casino on the side. We liked the low limits for deposits and withdrawals, which make it friendly for smaller budgets, though the $1 fee on cashouts feels unnecessary. The game list is big enough, over 2,500 titles, but not always easy to browse. With no welcome deal or regular promotions, it’s clear the site relies on its poker tournaments rather than casino offers. Still, we found it reliable once in play, and with a few adjustments, GGPoker could turn from a decent hand into a winning round.
Here are the parts GGPoker handles well and the areas that still need work.
