But I did run into problems with the main deposit button. Every time I clicked it, the screen just went blurry. No deposit menu opened up, nothing happened at all. To actually deposit, I had to use the ‘Banking’ option at the bottom of the page.

At first glance, the bonus amounts seem decent, but a closer look at the terms reveals some serious drawbacks that not every player will be content with.

Newbies at Zodiac Casino can claim a two-part welcome bonus. The first part doubles your deposit up to £100, which sounds pretty good. All you need to do is to stake a minimum of £10 and receive your 100% bonus. The minimum requirement is average, but sadly not unique, some of Zodiac sister sites have welcome deals with just a £1 deposit rule.

I decided to try it out as soon as I registered. The registration was simple, I really didn’t like that the casino automatically assigns the username to you.

I then deposited through PayPal. The bonus money appeared in my account right away, but then I noticed something in the terms – a 200x wagering requirement, this is way too high for a casual player to even attempt to play through. To put that in perspective, if you deposit £100 and get £100 in bonus funds, you’d need to stake £20,000 before withdrawing any winnings. The value here is decent, but the wagering req. really brings it all down.

The second part of this welcome package offers even less value. It matches 25% of your deposit up to £100 in bonus funds. This means you’d need to deposit £400 just to get that £100 bonus. And yes, that same 200x wagering requirement applies here too.

Other Promotions at Zodiac

The bonus options at Zodiac Casino really thin out after the welcome package. Only one promotion for regular customers was running at the time of my test – a £25 bonus + VIP points for Gold Blitz slot for a £100 deposit. 200x wagering applied here again. New deals are added from time to time, especially during the festive season, but there’s no actual permanent offers for existing users.

No Deposit Bonus

Zodiac Casino doesn’t offer any no deposit bonuses at the moment. The only starting boost available comes from the welcome package. While this might seem like a decent alternative to a no deposit bonus, the 200x wagering requirement makes it particularly tough for new players.

The Zodiac Casino bonus system is not really unappealing, with extreme 200x wagering requirements that make withdrawals hard. There’s also not many deals for existing players available and if one pops up, it usually will come with the same hardcore wagering requirements.

Once you sign up at Zodiac Casino, you automatically join their loyalty programme. The casino belongs to the Casino Rewards Group, a network of 29 different online casinos. What’s really unique about it, is that your rewards and status work at all these sites – if you bet at one casino, you will earn points at all of them. Good on paper, but there are some restrictions not everyone might like.

There’s a six-level rewards structure in place. Everyone starts at the basic level, then can move through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond ranks. The casino uses two separate point systems to handle everything. First, there’s Status Points – these determine your rank. The casino checks these points every few weeks and adjusts your tier based on your betting activity. Once you reach a new level, you’ll keep it until the end of the next month. After that, it takes less betting to stay at your level than it did to reach it the first time around.

Now for the actual loyalty currency – VIP Points. These convert to real casino credit, but the earning rates differ by game type. Slots give you the best deal: 1.5 points for every £10 you bet. Table games and roulette need £20 in bets for those same 1.5 points. If you prefer blackjack or video poker, you’ll need to stake £100 to earn 1.5 points. The points never expire, which seems nice until you learn about the conversion rate. You need at least 1,000 points to get anything, and that only gives you £6.66 in casino credit.

Things change a bit at Gold level. You’ll get a physical membership card in the mail, plus access to the VIP Lucky Jackpot drawings. These happen three times every day, with five different prize levels available. Gold members can win from three of these jackpot tiers, while Diamond members get shots at all five. Just remember – if you win, you must claim your prize within 8 hours through your casino account.

The programme’s idea looks solid, but the rewards are far too small to matter, the monthly point reset also doesn’t help. Sharing status across 29 casinos sounds nice, but with such low returns, it hardly feels worthwhile.

Zodiac Casino has a decent selection of around 800 games, a disappointingly low number compared to other casinos on the scene that offer 2K and more. The overall quality is great, as the casino features several big developers, but the number of options is lacking. No Zodiac exclusive games sadly, only Casino Rewards exclusives are available here.

The games are divided into categories at the top, some overlap between categories though. The “Other Games” section is the worst about this as it groups live dealer titles with random titles, feels disorganised and adds to the confusion. It’s strange not to see live games in their own category, which is the norm in most other casinos.

Another thing that’s a bit frustrating is the site’s layout. You won’t find proper filters to easily sort through the games, there’s no provider filter or any other traditional filter. The only filtering option available is only for slots and it’s limited to five options: 1–20 paylines, 25+ paylines, 3 reel, 5 reel, and Pragmatic Play games.

As for game details, it’s a little inconvenient that you can’t see basic information until you’ve already loaded the game. The site gives you an RTP value on the game list on the landing page, but that’s about it. If you want more details, like special features or betting limits, you’ll need to commit to the game first, it doesn’t help that there’s no demo mode. At least the performance is good, games load fast and we didn’t run into any huge lag.

Zodiac Casino doesn’t have a mobile app, which is disappointing. Instead, it relies on a mobile-optimised website that looks almost identical to the desktop version. You still get all the same game features, categories and the search function is easy to use, sitting in the top-right corner.

That said, the mobile site can feel a bit slow. Pages take a few seconds to load, and games can take 10–20 seconds to open, which is annoying when you’re just trying to jump in and play. While performance during gameplay is fine, the smaller design just doesn’t make use of the space like the desktop version does.

For my final test, I used the 3-reel filter to find a Football Penny Roller. Fun game overall, but I’d prefer to see the option for more paylines added here.

I went for Real Spooky Roulette first. The Halloween theme sounded interesting, but that’s where the creativity stopped. I liked the use of prerecorded videos to give a more authentic feel but the gameboard design is lacklustre, disappointing theme implementation.

Premier Blackjack with Side Bets was next, one of the highest RTP games at Zodiac. Overall, it was a highly polished game, I really liked how nice it looked. The performance was also great.
