First Look at Zodiac Online Casino

Before you get to play any games at Zodiac Casino, you will have to get through the dated landing page, white screen with a few starry banners advertising welcome deals. There’s nothing but promotional text in capital letters as you scroll down, plus these huge orange “Play Here” buttons everywhere. The whole thing reminds me of those sketchy promotional sites from 2010.

We tried to check out different sections using the tiny menu in the top right, it wasn’t very intuitive. Most of the useful stuff, like game lists or full banking options, stayed locked behind registration, a shame.

After registration, the site completely changed its look. The colors switched to black and purple, much more appealing. The layout was much more convenient and sleeker too, with five clear sections at the bottom: Promotions, Loyalty, Games, Bank, and Help.

The games section splits everything into proper categories: regular slots, progressives, table games, video poker, some variety stuff, and a live casino. There’s this “For You” section too. Each type has its own page explaining the game rules, which helps. It’s hard to ignore that they really push their Microgaming jackpots – the three biggest ones sit right on the main page with their current prize amounts.

What really bothered us was trying to find specific games. There’s no search bar anywhere. No way to filter by game provider either. You just get these endless lists to scroll through. You also cannot see the RTP values for games on the main website, only the landing has it. For the actual casino, these values are listed within the game itself.

The deposit process kicked in right after I created my account. The site dropped me straight into the banking section with all payment options laid out. I picked PayPal and deposited £10. The casino sent me to PayPal’s own page to finish up. I received my funds in seconds, and the welcome bonus came through at the same time – no delays, no complications.

What’s really unique about it, is that your rewards and status work at all these sites – if you bet at one casino, you will earn points at all of them. Good on paper, but there are some restrictions not everyone might like.

There’s a six-level rewards structure in place. Everyone starts at the basic level, then can move through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond ranks. The casino uses two separate point systems to handle everything. First, there’s Status Points – these determine your rank. The casino checks these points every few weeks and adjusts your tier based on your betting activity. Once you reach a new level, you’ll keep it until the end of the next month. After that, it takes less betting to stay at your level than it did to reach it the first time around.

Now for the actual loyalty currency – VIP Points. These convert to real casino credit, but the earning rates differ by game type. Slots give you the best deal: 1.5 points for every £10 you bet. Table games and roulette need £20 in bets for those same 1.5 points. If you prefer blackjack or video poker, you’ll need to stake £100 to earn 1.5 points. The points never expire, which seems nice until you learn about the conversion rate. You need at least 1,000 points to get anything, and that only gives you £6.66 in casino credit.

Things change a bit at Gold level. You’ll get a physical membership card in the mail, plus access to the VIP Lucky Jackpot drawings. These happen three times every day, with five different prize levels available. Gold members can win from three of these jackpot tiers, while Diamond members get shots at all five. Just remember – if you win, you must claim your prize within 8 hours through your casino account.

The casino also runs something called the Time of Your Life Sweepstakes. Your VIP tier determines how many entries you get into these draws. The prizes here include travels and physical prizes instead of casino credit, but we couldn’t find any specific information about what these prizes actually include on the official website itself.

Zodiac Casino has a decent selection of around 800 games, a disappointingly low number compared to other casinos on the scene that offer 2K and more. The overall quality is great, as the casino features several big developers, but the number of options is lacking. No Zodiac exclusive games sadly, only Casino Rewards exclusives are available here.

The games are divided into categories at the top, some overlap between categories though. The “Other Games” section is the worst about this as it groups live dealer titles with random titles, feels disorganised and adds to the confusion. It’s strange not to see live games in their own category, which is the norm in most other casinos.

Another thing that’s a bit frustrating is the site’s layout. You won’t find proper filters to easily sort through the games, there’s no provider filter or any other traditional filter. The only filtering option available is only for slots and it’s limited to five options: 1–20 paylines, 25+ paylines, 3 reel, 5 reel, and Pragmatic Play games.

As for game details, it’s a little inconvenient that you can’t see basic information until you’ve already loaded the game. The site gives you an RTP value on the game list on the landing page, but that’s about it. If you want more details, like special features or betting limits, you’ll need to commit to the game first, it doesn’t help that there’s no demo mode. At least the performance is good, games load fast and we didn’t run into any huge lag.

Zodiac Casino doesn’t have a mobile app, which is disappointing. Instead, it relies on a mobile-optimised website that looks almost identical to the desktop version. You still get all the same game features, categories and the search function is easy to use, sitting in the top-right corner.

That said, the mobile site can feel a bit slow. Pages take a few seconds to load, and games can take 10–20 seconds to open, which is annoying when you’re just trying to jump in and play. While performance during gameplay is fine, the smaller design just doesn’t make use of the space like the desktop version does.

I decided to test three different slot games to get a good feel for the collection. I went for Bunny Loot, it was listed as one of the best games of 2024. I liked that each section is spun individually, it makes each round way more fun.

Sweet Beast Power Combo appeared in the popular games section, so I tried that next. It had a fun theme and I like that the Beast symbol interacts with various other symbols.

I went for Real Spooky Roulette first. The Halloween theme sounded interesting, but that’s where the creativity stopped. I liked the use of prerecorded videos to give a more authentic feel but the gameboard design is lacklustre, disappointing theme implementation.

Premier Blackjack with Side Bets was next, one of the highest RTP games at Zodiac. Overall, it was a highly polished game, I really liked how nice it looked. The performance was also great.

The live chat button pops up right away in the help section, which is nice. However, what we really did not like here, is the lack of an FAQ. Most casinos have a FAQ section, it’s even expected, here you’ll have to directly contact support for any inquiries.

I tested the chat myself. I connected with an agent almost immediately after hitting the support button – under 10 seconds. I then asked a few specific questions, including where to find info about withdrawal limits, if the manual verification is required and if there were any fees on transactions. The agent quickly transferred me to a colleague. I had a feeling I was dealing with a bot, as the interaction felt scripted.
