    SpreadEx Review

SpreadEx is mainly known as a betting website, but it also operates a casino with a trading section attached to the same account. This SpreadEx casino review mainly focuses on their casino sector and its operations. This includes the game tests, bonus overviews, performance and the intricacies of payments. We will finish it up with a short overview of where this place shines and where it overlooks some things.

Sportsbook, Trading and Casino All in One

There aren’t many gambling companies in the UK that have been active since the late ’90s, but SpreadEx is one of them. It was first launched in 1999 as a financial and spread betting firm, long before adding casino games to its site. What makes it different from most casinos we’ve tested is that it wasn’t designed with slots or roulette in mind; it grew out of a trading background.

That influence is still visible across the site. The interface is practical, maybe a little plain, but everything from sports bets to financial trades and casino games runs under one account.

SpreadEx has made the Sunday Times Profit Track 100 multiple times, and was listed in the FT1000 report back in 2017.

We wouldn’t say the casino is the main focus here; it clearly plays second to sports and financials. But you will find a small selection of titles to play.

    SpreadEx Casino Company Information

The brand’s parent company had regulatory issues. In 2021, the UK Gambling Commission found serious flaws in how SpreadEx handled anti-money laundering checks and customer protections. That resulted in a regulatory settlement of £1.36 million. Then, between 2022 and 2023, another review showed further failings in similar areas, leading to a £2 million fine and a formal warning. The licence remains active, and the brand co-operated with the investigations despite these past issues, however.

Licences usually say a lot about how seriously a casino takes its responsibilities. SpreadEx doesn’t fall short here. It holds active licences from the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority and has a business link through Net Entertainment Alderney Ltd.

SpreadEx has proper tools to help users stay in control. You can set deposit limits for both casino and fixed-odds betting. It also offers timeouts, self-exclusion, and on-screen reminders if you’ve been logged in too long. There’s a page explaining warning signs to look for in yourself or others, and links to responsible gambling services are easy to find.

Age checks are automatic, and accounts will be restricted if one can’t verify they’re over 18. Anyone under that age will lose access immediately, and any balance will be removed.

The site itself is properly encrypted but lacks 2FA, which we’d like online casinos to use more.

Licenсes and Security at SpreadEx Casino

Is SpreadEx legit? Well, it is indeed a trusted site. It has the necessary licences and provides a nice set of responsible gambling tools.

    Minimalistic, Simple Design

The first thing you see at SpreadEx is the game library, which fills up most of the screen. Black and yellow colours dominate the casino section, while the sportsbook sticks to black, red, and white. Both look modern at first glance, but the overall layout on the casino side comes across as underdeveloped.

There’s just a single top bar with game types on the left and the Sports/Financials switch on the right. Your balance and account info are in the top right corner. Beyond that, the page is surrounded by empty space with no side panels or shortcuts, which makes it feel hollow.

Design of the site is generally good – I like the yellow and black colour scheme. A couple of small issues that I found – the text of the game categories overlaps with the buttons, and it doesn’t look good. Also noticed that there’s a lot of white space on either side of the game list, which could be better utilised.

    Jordan ConroyJordan Conroy Editor

Despite being functional, the casino layout is far more stripped down than what you’ll find on their sports section. Navigation is limited. Quick links like the sitemap, blog, and support aren’t visible here; you’ll need to jump to the sport betting page to find them. There’s a footer with the essentials, but that’s about it. The layout shows potential, but as it is, it feels like the casino is sitting in the shadow of its bigger sportsbook sibling.

    Sign Up Process

I set up an account myself, and the process was quick. There are just two pages to fill out, no complications. The forms were clear, and everything loaded properly. From start to finish, it took under a minute.

SpreadEx supports only two payment methods, and they are debit cards. This limited setup feels like a step back for a brand with such a long track record and a solid name in sports betting.

The minimum deposit here is just £1 – very rare and unusual to see a value this low. There are no fees for topping up, and deposits go through fast. The site works with Visa Fast Funds, too, which usually means faster withdrawals as well, though that’s outside the scope here.

Method Min Deposit Dep. Time Fees
Easy Bank Transfer £1 Instant None
    Visa £1 Instant None
    Mastercard £1 Instant None

    SpreadEx Casino Deposit Methods

To find the ‘Deposit’ button, I had to head into the ‘My Account’ section and click ‘Deposit Funds’ from the left-hand menu. I added £15 using a Visa card. The whole thing took about 15 seconds after confirmation. Right after that, a receipt showed up in my inbox.

    Jordan ConroyJordan Conroy Editor

SpreadEx nails the basics, but the lack of payment variety drags it down. It’s fast and reliable, but far too limited for today’s standards.

It feels like casino promotions just aren’t part of the plan at SpreadEx. We checked every corner of the site expecting at least a SpreadEx sign up offer, or maybe something ongoing hidden under the Promotions tab, but there wasn’t anything for casino users. There is a refer-a-friend deal, but it only works if the person bets on sport events, so it won’t be helpful if you’re here for the casino.

I’ve seen brands that go light on rewards, but this one doesn’t give you anything to work with. The page looks finished, the sportsbook side has action going on, but the casino space feels like it’s been left behind.

    Jordan ConroyJordan Conroy Editor

If you’re here for any kind of casino bonus, this isn’t the site to find one. There’s simply nothing in place right now.

SpreadEx Casino doesn’t give you much to work with game-wise either. There are just around 225 games in total, which is well below what you see at most online casinos today. The selection is also limited to five providers: NetEnt, Red Tiger, BTG, Evolution, and Ezugi. These names are fine, but with so few of them, the variety just isn’t there; you will miss out on all Pragmatic titles for one. And with a number so few, you will run out of options fast.

The way games are laid out feels cramped. Instead of keeping things organised, SpreadEx throws everything into one row, so you get both main categories like “Slots” and smaller ones like “Megaways” shoved together. It’s not just hard to scan, it also feels unfinished.

Subcategories don’t appear until you’ve already clicked into a section, and even then, they’re shallow. There’s no way to sort by provider, themes, jackpots, volatility or even alphabetically. And while there is a search bar, it only finds exact game titles; you can’t search by provider or tag.

There’s also a strange issue with categorisation. A game show from the live dealer section (Crazy Time) was under the Slots tab, and that’s not the only mix-up. Live titles are grouped with regular Blackjack and Roulette tables, even though they clearly belong in separate sections. In addition to the lack of any game info pages or trial modes, you can’t even open a preview to read about rules or RTP before playing.

Categorisation could be better overall. Having “main categories” and “sub categories” on the same row is inefficient and doesn’t make for good gameplay.

Instead of launching in the same window, all games pop up in a separate tab. This got old fast, especially when I had to switch between a few. That said, the actual performance was not bad at all. Everything ran without delays or audio issues, both on PC and mobile.

    Games available at SpreadEx Casino

Even though the game list could’ve been bigger, there are still some neat games to give a shot. Here are some of the best picks.

    Slot Games

Slot selection is exceedingly small when compared to other UK casinos. Usually, casinos have thousands of reels. The selection of game types is also limited, it’s mostly Megaways slots and video slots.

Game Name Provider RTP Launch Date
    Starburst NetEnt 96.09% 2013
Irish Pot Luck NetEnt 96.06% 2020
Cash Volt Red Tiger 94.78% 2020

    Best SpreadEx Casino Slots

Jack Hammer is the first game I gave a go. I love the theme and the fact that the ‘sticky feature’ triggers after every win. Steam Tower is another well-known game with an interesting theme. The variety of features is also commendable.

    Jordan ConroyJordan Conroy Editor

    Live Casino

The live game list is surprisingly decent. There’s a good range of options available from multiple game developers. You get a healthy mix of game shows, classic games, and modern table games.

Game Name Provider RTP Launch Date
Immersive Roulette Evolution Gaming 97.30% 2016
Funky Time Evolution Gaming 95.99% 2023
Crazy Time Evolution Gaming 95.50% 2020

    Best SpreadEx Casino Live Games

Gave a Red Door Live Roulette a try. The bonus features are neat, but not the pacing. The time between rounds is just too long. Mega Ball is much faster paced. I love the minimum £0.01 bet and that multiplier bonus at the end.

    Jordan ConroyJordan Conroy Editor

    Table Games

Regular table games didn’t get the same share of love. Your only options are blackjack and roulette, no niche types. What’s more, blackjack is limited to 2 games altogether.

Game Name Provider RTP Launch Date
    Blackjack Classic NetEnt 99.59% 2017
First Person Lightning Blackjack Evolution Gaming 99.56% 2021
First Person Lightning Roulette Evolution Gaming 97.30% 2019

    Best SpreadEx Casino Table Games

First Person Lightning Roulette is a table version of a popular Live game. I don’t have any complaints about this one, you can bet from as little as £0.10, which I like. On top of that, numbers are given multiplier boosts before each spin. Classic Blackjack might have a high RTP, but it’s not nearly as versatile. I’m not a fan of the betting options, which are limited to £1, £2, and £5. That said, the game itself runs well, and visuals look surprisingly good.

    Jordan ConroyJordan Conroy Editor

SpreadEx has decent game quality, but it’s wrapped in a setup that’s too thin and too messy to recommend for anyone who values browsing.

    Portable Casino and Betting Site

SpreadEx has dedicated apps for iOS and Android, which is good to see, but be aware there are three versions: casino, trading, and sports.

I had to double-check I was downloading the right one. It installed in under half a minute. The login screen was slightly odd at first, since it asks for an “Account Number” instead of the usual username. After that, the setup was quick. I turned on biometric login right away and it worked well, both fast and reliable.

    Jordan ConroyJordan Conroy Editor

The layout follows the desktop site closely, but it’s cleaner on mobile. There’s a quick-access bar fixed at the bottom that lets you jump between pages without scrolling around. Load times were nearly instant for most pages, including the cashier and game list.

I had no issues with screen freezes or broken buttons, even on mobile internet. The app feels like it was built properly from the ground up and not rushed out just to tick a box.

Games ran without stutters or delays. I didn’t spot any weird visual bugs or audio glitches while trying both slots and live tables. There were no annoying interruptions, and even when I jumped between titles quickly, everything stayed responsive. The one downside is the app doesn’t do anything new, you will get the same features on the mobile browser version.

Just like with deposits, SpreadEx keeps things minimal when it comes to withdrawals. It’s a debit card or nothing. There are no fees, at least, and there are no minimum withdrawals, which is a pretty unique move in this industry. Still, the lack of alternatives leaves a dent in flexibility. SpreadEx reviews are pretty frustrated with both the lack of methods and the occasional delay in cashouts.

Method Min Withdrawal Withdrawal Time Fees
Easy Bank Transfer No Minimum 2 Working Days None
    Visa No Minimum None
Mastercard No Minimum Up to 72 Hours None

    SpreadEx Casino Withdrawal Methods

I cashed out £11.61 using Visa. The process felt snappy, it only took me half a minute from hitting “Withdraw Funds” in the account menu to seeing the confirmation page. A day later, the money landed in my account through Visa Fast Funds. Not the fastest turnaround I’ve seen, but still decent. I didn’t face any delays or unnecessary checks, which is always appreciated.

    Jordan ConroyJordan Conroy Editor

    Account Verification

SpreadEx tries to verify your identity automatically when you sign up. In our case, that went through without a hitch. If it doesn’t work, you will be asked for standard documents like a photo ID and proof of address. You can also submit extra forms later on if you want to increase your deposit limit, even if you pass the initial verification.

Withdrawals work decently, but SpreadEx doesn’t give much choice. For casual players who don’t need anything besides debit, that might be just fine. But if you’re coming from casinos that offer PayPal or instant e-wallet payouts, you’re going to notice the difference here.

Support is handled pretty well at SpreadEx, though we wouldn’t call it a standout. There’s live chat and phone support available daily from 8am to 10pm, which is enough to cover most of the day but not exactly ideal if you run into problems late at night. That said, if something urgent happens with your bets, the phone line will take emergency calls even after hours, which is a rare and welcome backup.

The email support is decent, too, though it naturally won’t be instant. You can reach them at [email protected]. If your issue isn’t urgent, this route works fine. As for phone support, it’s available at +44 (0)1727 895 000.

I tested out the live chat. The button sits quietly in the bottom corner, and once I clicked in, I got connected to an agent in about 30 seconds. Each of my questions was answered quickly, responses came in under a minute, and they didn’t dodge or deflect. They did stick to the question asked and didn’t give much extra unless I pushed for it, but I’ll take that over unhelpful fluff. I asked about withdrawal processing times, minimum limits, and support availability. They gave direct answers to each question.

The same night, I also tested their email support. I sent a question at 22:16, got an automated reply instantly, and then received a proper reply just over an hour later at 23:27. Not bad at all for that time of night.

    Jordan ConroyJordan Conroy Editor

The weakest part of SpreadEx support isn’t the actual customer service team, it’s the site layout. Their help page is mainly geared towards sports betting. You won’t find casino-specific help in the main menu, and there’s no quick link to the FAQ from the casino lobby. I had to ask the support team to send me the page directly. Even then, there were only a couple of casino questions buried under the “mobile casino” section. The answers are brief, but they get to the point.

    Support Option Availability Response Time
Live Chat 8am–10pm daily Under 1 minute
Phone 8am–10pm (urgent bet calls outside hours) Not tested
Email 24/7 (response depends on time) 1 hour (tested at night)
FAQ Sports Help section only N/A

    Support Options at SpreadEx Casino

The team is helpful and quick, which counts for a lot. But the lack of proper casino-related support content and the limited working hours stop it from going further.

    Sportsbook

SpreadEx is far more serious about its sportsbook than it is about the casino side, and that’s easy to notice once you land on the homepage. Betting options are put right in front of you, with tabs for both fixed odds and spread betting. You’ll find around 20 different sports to bet on, with football, horse racing, rugby, tennis, boxing, and cricket leading the pack. Less popular markets like darts, greyhound racing, or snooker are also available, though not nearly as detailed. The fixed odds side works like any other UK bookie, with a payout average sitting at around 94%.

What’s unique here is the spread betting, which gives you a different way to approach odds. Instead of locking in a return, your wins or losses scale depending on how right or wrong you are. It’s risky, especially if you’re not used to the concept, but the site does include a guide that breaks it down with examples.

Live betting is also a key focus at SpreadEx, which puts it above many other sportsbooks. The in-play section is large, always active, and supported by a stat centre that opens in a new window. There’s enough data there to keep even the pickiest punters happy. Streaming for UK and Irish horse racing, football, tennis, and greyhounds is available too.

    £60 Free Bet Bonus

Indeed, SpreadEx has no deals or even promo page for its Casino, for its Sportsbook, though the case is different. You still won’t find many SpreadEx betting deals here, but some are better than none at all.

SpreadEx welcome offer for sports punters is easy enough to grab: bet £10 on a fixed odds single (or £10 each-way) at minimum odds of 1/2 and you’ll get three £10 free fixed odds bets in return. No bonus code is needed here.

    Other Sports Deals

The highlight among the misc deals is a refer-a-friend program with two slightly different tracks depending on how you like to bet. If you’re into spread betting, you can get a £100 Total Goals spread bet after your friend places five qualifying spread bets (each with at least £2 at risk, and a potential swing of £20). For fixed odds bettors, the setup is simpler: refer to someone who joins and places £10 worth of qualifying bets, and you’ll get £10 cash in your account. You can repeat this up to five times, so there’s a £50 cap there.

    Review Verdict

SpreadEx Casino leaves little to explore. The game library is one of the smallest we’ve come across, with just over 200 games from five developers. Payments are just as narrow, with debit cards being the only route for deposits and withdrawals. There are no bonuses for casino users either, not even the new customers offer. SpreadEx is much better as a sportsbook, and it’s clear that’s where the real attention goes. If you’re coming here for slots, keep expectations in check.

Here’s what we found the best about SpreadEx and what we weren’t as positive about.

    • Great customer support

All these negative reviews about SpreadEx crack me up😂 Calling it a scam just because they didn’t win? Come on. I gave it a shot. I wasn’t a fan of the layout, but I played Big Bass Splash and hit a 400x, then some random book-themed slot and pulled a 240x. Maybe spend less time being salty and more time spinning😎

casino spreadex is alright if you’re into sports betting —loads of options there. But the games kinda lacking. I’m used to having a ton of slots and live tables, but this one just feels a bit empty compared to other sites.

I have always liked the games and promotions on this site. Recently, I had a fantastic win, but despite numerous attempts, I haven't received my payout. I've followed all the instructions for updating my account and have contacted customer support multiple times, yet the issue remains unresolved. It's quite disappointing, especially since I've never had problems like this before.😔😔😔

SpreadEx has a good mobile app for on-the-go play. On the other side, the variety of casino games is limited, and support is not available 24/7. Despite these drawbacks, the site is user-friendly and secure.
