SpreadEx is mainly known as a betting website, but it also operates a casino with a trading section attached to the same account. This SpreadEx casino review mainly focuses on their casino sector and its operations. This includes the game tests, bonus overviews, performance and the intricacies of payments. We will finish it up with a short overview of where this place shines and where it overlooks some things.
There aren’t many gambling companies in the UK that have been active since the late ’90s, but SpreadEx is one of them. It was first launched in 1999 as a financial and spread betting firm, long before adding casino games to its site. What makes it different from most casinos we’ve tested is that it wasn’t designed with slots or roulette in mind; it grew out of a trading background.
That influence is still visible across the site. The interface is practical, maybe a little plain, but everything from sports bets to financial trades and casino games runs under one account.
SpreadEx has made the Sunday Times Profit Track 100 multiple times, and was listed in the FT1000 report back in 2017.
We wouldn’t say the casino is the main focus here; it clearly plays second to sports and financials. But you will find a small selection of titles to play.

SpreadEx Casino Company Information
The brand’s parent company had regulatory issues. In 2021, the UK Gambling Commission found serious flaws in how SpreadEx handled anti-money laundering checks and customer protections. That resulted in a regulatory settlement of £1.36 million. Then, between 2022 and 2023, another review showed further failings in similar areas, leading to a £2 million fine and a formal warning. The licence remains active, and the brand co-operated with the investigations despite these past issues, however.
The first thing you see at SpreadEx is the game library, which fills up most of the screen. Black and yellow colours dominate the casino section, while the sportsbook sticks to black, red, and white. Both look modern at first glance, but the overall layout on the casino side comes across as underdeveloped.
There’s just a single top bar with game types on the left and the Sports/Financials switch on the right. Your balance and account info are in the top right corner. Beyond that, the page is surrounded by empty space with no side panels or shortcuts, which makes it feel hollow.
Design of the site is generally good – I like the yellow and black colour scheme. A couple of small issues that I found – the text of the game categories overlaps with the buttons, and it doesn’t look good. Also noticed that there’s a lot of white space on either side of the game list, which could be better utilised.

Despite being functional, the casino layout is far more stripped down than what you’ll find on their sports section. Navigation is limited. Quick links like the sitemap, blog, and support aren’t visible here; you’ll need to jump to the sport betting page to find them. There’s a footer with the essentials, but that’s about it. The layout shows potential, but as it is, it feels like the casino is sitting in the shadow of its bigger sportsbook sibling.
I set up an account myself, and the process was quick. There are just two pages to fill out, no complications. The forms were clear, and everything loaded properly. From start to finish, it took under a minute.

SpreadEx has dedicated apps for iOS and Android, which is good to see, but be aware there are three versions: casino, trading, and sports.
I had to double-check I was downloading the right one. It installed in under half a minute. The login screen was slightly odd at first, since it asks for an “Account Number” instead of the usual username. After that, the setup was quick. I turned on biometric login right away and it worked well, both fast and reliable.

The layout follows the desktop site closely, but it’s cleaner on mobile. There’s a quick-access bar fixed at the bottom that lets you jump between pages without scrolling around. Load times were nearly instant for most pages, including the cashier and game list.
I had no issues with screen freezes or broken buttons, even on mobile internet. The app feels like it was built properly from the ground up and not rushed out just to tick a box.
Games ran without stutters or delays. I didn’t spot any weird visual bugs or audio glitches while trying both slots and live tables. There were no annoying interruptions, and even when I jumped between titles quickly, everything stayed responsive. The one downside is the app doesn’t do anything new, you will get the same features on the mobile browser version.

SpreadEx is far more serious about its sportsbook than it is about the casino side, and that’s easy to notice once you land on the homepage. Betting options are put right in front of you, with tabs for both fixed odds and spread betting. You’ll find around 20 different sports to bet on, with football, horse racing, rugby, tennis, boxing, and cricket leading the pack. Less popular markets like darts, greyhound racing, or snooker are also available, though not nearly as detailed. The fixed odds side works like any other UK bookie, with a payout average sitting at around 94%.
What’s unique here is the spread betting, which gives you a different way to approach odds. Instead of locking in a return, your wins or losses scale depending on how right or wrong you are. It’s risky, especially if you’re not used to the concept, but the site does include a guide that breaks it down with examples.
Live betting is also a key focus at SpreadEx, which puts it above many other sportsbooks. The in-play section is large, always active, and supported by a stat centre that opens in a new window. There’s enough data there to keep even the pickiest punters happy. Streaming for UK and Irish horse racing, football, tennis, and greyhounds is available too.
SpreadEx Sportsbook Apps
Indeed, SpreadEx has no deals or even promo page for its Casino, for its Sportsbook, though the case is different. You still won’t find many SpreadEx betting deals here, but some are better than none at all.
SpreadEx welcome offer for sports punters is easy enough to grab: bet £10 on a fixed odds single (or £10 each-way) at minimum odds of 1/2 and you’ll get three £10 free fixed odds bets in return. No bonus code is needed here.
The highlight among the misc deals is a refer-a-friend program with two slightly different tracks depending on how you like to bet. If you’re into spread betting, you can get a £100 Total Goals spread bet after your friend places five qualifying spread bets (each with at least £2 at risk, and a potential swing of £20). For fixed odds bettors, the setup is simpler: refer to someone who joins and places £10 worth of qualifying bets, and you’ll get £10 cash in your account. You can repeat this up to five times, so there’s a £50 cap there.
SpreadEx Casino leaves little to explore. The game library is one of the smallest we’ve come across, with just over 200 games from five developers. Payments are just as narrow, with debit cards being the only route for deposits and withdrawals. There are no bonuses for casino users either, not even the new customers offer. SpreadEx is much better as a sportsbook, and it’s clear that’s where the real attention goes. If you’re coming here for slots, keep expectations in check.
Here’s what we found the best about SpreadEx and what we weren’t as positive about.
