Betfred has long been a staple in the UK gambling industry, primarily known for its major online sportsbook and dozens of betting shops all around the UK. However, over recent years, the brand has significantly expanded its casino offerings, now featuring a bigger selection of slots, table games, and live dealer options. In this Betfred review, we’ll take a closer look at Betfred’s game library, its bonus structure, and the payment options available.
Betfred online casino has been a key player in the UK gambling scene for more than 50 years, and it’s not hard to see why. It all started in 1967 when two brothers, Fred and Peter Done, opened their first betting shop in Salford. They didn’t use typical startup funds, as their big break came from a winning bet on England’s 1966 World Cup victory. That winning gamble became the foundation for what would grow into one of the most recognised bookmakers in the UK today.
In the year of 2004, Betfred entered the online market being managed under Petfre (Gibraltar) Limited, which is basically them managing themselves, as there aren’t any Betfred sister sites. Today, the company runs over 1,350 physical betting shops and serves more than 800,000 online customers, pandering to both offline and online customers all at once.
Betfred hasn’t stopped in the UK, either. Years passed, and it has expanded internationally and secured licences in 10 U.S. states, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Colorado. The brand has also made moves into South Africa, where it acquired a majority stake in LottoStar.
Betfred has also made some interesting innovations and bold decisions. For one, in the 1980s, Fred Done introduced the Lucky 15 bet. This multi-leg bet gave players more chances to win and became an instant hit, earning Fred the nickname “Bonus King.”
In 2011, Betfred achieved another accolade as it acquired the state-owned Tote in a multi-million-pound deal. This acquisition strengthened the company’s connection to horse racing, a sport that remains central to Betfred’s identity today, you will see why as you continue to read further.
Betfred also keeps up with the times, especially when it comes to technology. The company invested £100 million in upgrading its website, which only added more convenience for its online customers. Despite the brand’s age, the site isn’t outdated at all and has most of the usability features modern casinos have.
In July 2023, the brand was hit with a £3.25 million fine from the UK Gambling Commission due to shortcomings in anti-money laundering measures. This was a huge hit to the brand’s reputation, and maybe it still raises suspicions for some users, which is understandable, sadly. We will cover this issue more in the next section, which focuses on the brand’s trustworthiness.
Since then, though, they have strictly followed the regulations from both the UK Gambling Commission and the Gibraltar Licensing Authority, as they need to keep everything above board from now on.

Company Information
As you can see, Betfred Casino has been around for ages, and they have maintained its reputation quite well on paper. Now let’s see how safe and secure the brand actually is.
Betfred has two big licences: the UK Gambling Commission (account number 39544) and the Government of Gibraltar. Being licensed by these means that the casino has to follow some pretty strict rules when it comes to managing their website and features. The UKGC, in particular, doesn’t mess around as this one is the strictest licence out there, a sure sign that the casino follows the UK regulations. This authorisation specifically states that it covers bingo, casino games, and sports betting, so seeing it should give UK players a bit of peace of mind as everything is covered here.

Security Aspects
When it comes to keeping your personal info safe, Betfred’s not slacking, either. They’ve got 128-bit SSL encryption, which is pretty standard these days, but still good to see. They’ve also got two-factor authentication, which our team always appreciates. We also set up 2FA for ourselves as soon as we completed registration; better be safe than sorry!
One thing we appreciate about Betfred is that they’re pretty upfront about game rules, odds, and payout rates. We didn’t have to dig around to find this info for the games we played. They also publish monthly payout reports, which we checked for the last six months. Everything seemed consistent, which is always good to see.
Betfred also provides a solid, responsible gambling network with their S.A.F.E. initiative. It stands for Spend, Activity, Frequency, and Emotion. They’ve got all the usual tools – deposit limits, self-exclusion, cool-off periods, the works.
What I liked was that they asked me if I wanted to set up limits right when I registered. It’s a nice touch that shows they’re thinking about this stuff from the get-go. They’ve also got links to organisations like GamCare and GambleAware if you need extra help. A small selection, but the big orgs are all here, so it’s good enough.

One thing Betfred seems pretty strict about is keeping kids off the site. When we signed up, they were pretty thorough with age checks. It also suggests parents utilise blocking plugins and services that can limit access to gambling websites in order to prevent minors from accessing those.
Betfred hit a rough patch in 2023, facing a £3.25 million fine from the UK Gambling Commission. The penalties stemmed from failures in both social responsibility and anti-money laundering controls between January 2021 and December 2022. The investigation revealed that Betfred wasn’t keeping a close enough watch on high-rollers, allowing some players to lose significant sums without any real intervention. Their record-keeping was also subpar when it came to monitoring for potential money laundering, and they relied too much on basic, open-source checks without taking the necessary steps to dig deeper.
To their credit, Betfred has since tried to improve. Our team noticed a stronger focus on responsible gambling while reviewing the site, with more prompts and reminders than before. It’s a step in the right direction, though past mistakes like these tend to linger in people’s minds. It wouldn’t be surprising if some players remain cautious when considering the brand, especially after such significant oversights.
As it is now, Betfred Casino can be considered a trustworthy operator, backed by decades of experience in the gambling industry. For UK players looking for a reliable and trustworthy option, Betfred is a strong contender among secure online gambling websites.
When we first saw Betfred Casino’s homepage, we weren’t blown away, but weren’t disappointed either. The site’s got a clean look with a blue and white colour scheme that’s easy on the eyes. It’s not trying to be flashy, which our team can appreciate. The layout’s pretty easy to grasp – you have Sports, Casino, Bingo, Poker, and Lotto sections right at the top, so you can jump between them instantaneously.
Compared to other online casinos, Betfred’s got a good spread. It’s not just sports betting and casino games – you’ve got bingo, lotto, and a decent poker section too. Each category even has its own promos and adjusted interface, which is pretty unique.
The casino section’s got this horizontal sub-menu that lets you switch between different game types. It’s simple and basic, but it works. You can get to slots, table games, and live casino stuff without lurking too much. Most of the games they offer are slots, they have over 1k of those, but there’s other stuff to check out too.
I liked the search bar in the middle of the page – it’s handy for finding specific games quickly. But here’s a weird thing: once you filter by game type, the search bar disappears. It’s a bit annoying, to be honest.
Jordan Conroy Editor
One thing we really liked was the “i” button on the game thumbnails. Hover over it, and you get all the important details like a minimum stake, RTP, and who made the game. You can even favourite games from there. And that’s not all; click on “More Info” from that info window, and you get the full lowdown on the game’s rules and features. Not every casino does this, so it’s a nice touch.
But here’s something that our team didn’t quite understand – there’s no way to filter games by provider. It’s a strange decision because they give you the provider info when you hover over a game, so they could let us filter by it as well. Many other online casinos have this feature, and without it, finding titles from your favourite game studio is a bit of a pain.
On the plus side, the site loads quickly. We tested it out on both the desktop and mobile, and didn’t run into any major problems. Everything ran pretty well, with no lag while browsing or playing.

What Betfred Casino’s Got Going On
Betfred website is not perfect – the missing provider filter is a bit of a letdown, and the disappearing search bar when you use filters is just odd. But these are minor issues in the grand scheme of things. What really surprised us was how well they’ve integrated such a range of gambling options into one website. From sports betting to casino games, bingo, and poker, it’s all there, and it all works well; you can switch between these from a single account in seconds. The website may not be too unique visually, but it accomplishes its goals effectively, the hover-over game info is a nice touch that you rarely can come across. On top of that, games load quickly on all devices. If you’re after a gambling site that offers a bit of everything, Betfred is definitely worth checking out. Just don’t expect any elaborate designs – this is a site that prioritises substance over style.
Betfred Casino gives players a good spread of deposit options that should cover most needs. We tested their deposit system and found it quick and easy to use. Betfred accepts all the usual suspects when it comes to payment methods. You can use Visa, Mastercard, Neteller, Skrill, PayPal, and Paysafecard.
Now, here’s where Betfred really shines – their minimum deposit is just £5. That’s a big deal for casual players. We’ve seen plenty of online casinos that ask for £10 (an industry standard) or even £20 minimum deposits, so Betfred’s fiver minimum is a breath of fresh air. It’s especially nice to have such a low limit with PayPal, a rare combination in the market. Another plus is that Betfred doesn’t tack on any extra fees for deposits. Your money goes straight into your gambling account without any sneaky charges eating into your balance.
Some players might have an issue with Betfred supporting only GBP and Euros. That’s a non-issue if you’re British, but international players might get hit with currency exchange fees, so keep this in mind if playing from abroad.
| Payment Method | Min. Deposit | Commission Fees | Speed of Deposit Processing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visa | £5 | No fees | Instant |
| MasterCard | £5 | No fees | Instant |
| Neteller | £5 | No fees | Instant |
| Skrill | £5 | No fees | Instant |
| PayPal | £5 | No fees | Instant |
| Paysafecard | £5 | No fees | Instant |
Deposit Method Information
Depositing itself couldn’t be made any easier. Log in, go to “My Account” page, click on the “Deposit” button, pick your payment method, enter how much you want to deposit, and you’re done.
I tried out a couple of deposits myself to see how it all works in reality. First, I deposited £10 using my Visa. The cash showed up in my account instantly. The deposit button was right there in the top corner after I logged in, a few clicks later, my balance was updated on both my laptop and phone. Then I gave PayPal a go, another tenner. Same deal – quick, easy, and the money was there, ready to play with straight away. Both times, the whole process was simple, and no issues arose. I especially liked how fast I actually received the money.

After trying out Betfred’s deposit system, we’ve got to say it’s pretty solid. The £5 minimum deposit is a big plus for casual players. No fees on deposits or withdrawals is another nice touch. The process is quick and simple, and your funds show up right away on both desktop and mobile. Sure, they could add more currency options in the future, but for UK players, it’s spot on. All the popular payment methods are here, so you’re likely to find one that works the best for you. The identity checks can be a bit of an annoyance, but overall, it does the job well. If you’re after a simple way to fund your online casino account, Betfred won’t disappoint you.
Betfred Casino isn’t stingy with promotions at all, as they have 10+ offers and 10 welcome bonuses for all of their sections, including casino, live casino, sports, games, bingo, poker, and lotto. It’s honestly amazing how they’ve sorted everything by category. It’s a small detail, but it makes hunting down relevant offers much easier than on sites where everything’s mixed together.

The Betfred Club, Betfred’s loyalty program, gives players a chance to climb up levels and grab better rewards as they go. Not everyone gets the same deal – Betfred’s got different levels you can reach. The whole thing works on Comp Points: you bet £10 on casino or live casino games, and you get 1 point. Simple as that.
Now, when it comes to using those points, you’ve got a few ways to go. If you want a Golden Chip worth £1, that’ll be 200 points. More of a free spins person – 500 points get you 50 free spins on some selected slots. If you’re after cold, hard cash, 1,000 points turn into £10 – you can play with it or take it out, up to you.
Just keep in mind that the conversion rates might change depending on your level, and once you’ve swapped your points, you’ve got 7 days to use those free spins and golden chips.
The program has five levels: Beginner, Regular, Grinder, Master, and Elite. You need different amounts of points to hit each level, and as you rack them up, you move on up.
Alas, once you reach one stage, it’s not going to be fixed to your account. If you don’t keep up with the points limit and won’t reach the quote, you may as well be demoted. This adds too much stress to an average loyalty program, in our opinion.
But here comes one thing we really liked about the higher levels – Downgrade Protection. Once you make it to Master or Elite, you’re safe at that level for three months, and even if you don’t quite hit the points, you need to stay there.
I don’t always have loads of time to play every month, so it was nice knowing I’d be able to keep my status even if I had a quiet month or two.
Jordan Conroy Editor
| Betfred Club Level | Points per Level | Downgrade Protection |
|---|---|---|
| Beginner | 0 | N/A |
| Regular | 600 | N/A |
| Grinder | 1,800 | N/A |
| Master | 7,800 | 3 Months |
| Elite | 14,000 | 3 Months |
How Loyalty Programme Levels Stack Up
As you move up the levels, the goodies get better. When you’re just starting out as a Beginner, you get spins on the Bronze Prize Wheel. You might win some cash, tournament tickets, or poker bonuses. Make it to Regular and Grinder, and you’re looking at the Silver and Gold Prize Wheels – the prizes on these are even better. Hit the big leagues at Master and Elite, and you’re mostly looking at cash bonuses. It’s pretty sweet if you play a lot or like to bet big.
| Betfred Club Level | Points Target | Reward | Steps to Next Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beginner | 150 | Bronze Wheel Spin | 4 |
| Regular | 300 | Silver Wheel Spin | 6 |
| Grinder | 600 | Gold Wheel Spin | 13 |
| Master | 500 | £5 Cash | 28 |
| Elite | 750 | £10 Cash | N/A |
What You Can Expect Reward-wise
On top of all that, if you’re in the Betfred Club, you can get into exclusive freerolls. Depending on your level, you might be playing in daily, weekly, or monthly freeroll tournaments. There are cash and tournament tickets up for grabs. If you’re into poker, these freerolls are a pretty nice extra that adds a bit of spice to your gamble.
Now, if you’re just a casual player, you might find climbing the levels a bit slow. No wonder, as you only get 1 point for every £10 you bet, it can take a while to build up. If you don’t play that often or don’t bet big, you might be stuck in the lower levels, where the rewards aren’t as good. It’s definitely set up to favour people who play a lot or bet big – they’ll move up faster and get to the good stuff quicker.
After spending a good chunk of time with the Betfred Club and comparing it to other loyalty programs, we’d say it’s a solid middle-ground option. It’s clear and structured, focusing on points and prize wheels without the bells and whistles of VIP treatment or special events. For regular players who prefer to build up points over time, it’s pretty good. It’s not the flashiest program out there, but it does what it promises.
Betfred Casino has 3,106 games in its library, and it’s one of the most stocked with a variety of online casinos we’ve played at. They’ve got everything from slots and jackpots to table games, live casino, poker, bingo, and even lotto, all in one spot. On top of that, each type of game has its own page, which makes it pretty easy to find what you’re after.
Game offerings at Betfred are rich not only in-game types but in their numbers, too – there are over 1,000 slots alone over here. To fill their game selection with quality titles, Betfred has teamed up with a bunch of game makers like Microgaming, Blueprint IGT, and Red Tiger, among others. That said, there are a few big names missing from the lineup. The live casino offerings are all provided by Playtech, which is fine, but they don’t have Evolution Gaming, which is a bit of a bummer.
| Game Type | Quantity | Most Popular Game |
|---|---|---|
| Slots | 1000+ | Big Bass Splash |
| Jackpots | 143 | Mega Moolah |

Betfred’s Games Broken Down
The site’s setup is pretty user-friendly. Each game has a clear picture, and when you hover over it and click the “i” button, you can see some game data like the minimum bet, the RTP, and who made the game. If you click the “More info” button, you get to check out the full rules for each game, which is pretty handy if you want to really understand how a game works before spending your money.
The one thing that confuses me is there’s no way to filter games by provider despite the casino having that information ready. With so many games on offer, I often found myself wishing for more ways to narrow down the selection. Betfred already has a lot of advanced features, which only makes the absence of a provider filter stick out more. There is a search function, yes, but it can’t replace the proper provider filter and the convenience that comes with it.
Jordan Conroy Editor
Another thing that’s missing is a demo mode. A lot of other casinos let you try games for free, but at Betfred, you’ve got to play games with real money. This makes trying out new games a bit riskier since you can’t have a go for free first, but at least you have game descriptions to filter games you obviously don’t vibe with.
One thing we did like was that your balance works across all parts of the casino. That said, for some games like live casino or poker, you need to change your balance into chips, which is an extra step but not a huge issue.
I was pretty pleased with how fast the games loaded on both my computer and phone. No lag or delays to speak of. I started things off with some slots to try and receive that 100 free spins bonus. Some of the slots are pretty basic, but overall, the quality is decent, and I had a good time playing them. One thing I really liked was being able to switch games from a dropdown menu while I was playing. It’s a small thing, but it made jumping between games super fast and easy.
Jordan Conroy Editor
Now, let’s discuss the different types of games you can play at Betfred in more detail:
The table games selection is a bit smaller, with just over 10 games, but it covers the basics like roulette, blackjack, and poker. They’re presented nicely, although some options are tucked away in the Vegas section, which you might miss if you’re not looking for it. 10p roulette is good if you want to play without spending too much, and their blackjack game has a high RTP and runs nicely. They’ve even got solitaire if you want something a bit more laid-back.
| Table Game | Developer | RTP | Release Date | Special Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blackjack | IGT | 99.60% | 2015 | High RTP, multi-hand |
| 10p Roulette | G.Games | 97.30% | 2018 | Low stakes, European rules |
| Solitaire | G.Games | 96.80% | 2020 | Classic gameplay |

Betfred’s poker lobby has something for everyone, no matter your level of skill. The majority of poker action you’ll get here is a mix of familiar cash games like Texas Hold’em and Omaha, along with bigger tournaments that pull in players from all over. The tournaments are what really caught our attention – Betfred seems to make them the centrepiece of the poker area.
The poker section has a strong link with Betfred’s loyalty program, so you can rack up a plenty of rewards while you play, though honestly, we feel most people are going to be more interested in the tournaments. They run online as well as in-person, with some pretty generous prize pools.
To access the poker lobby, you’ll need to register separately. We weren’t too surprised by this since Poker uses software that is different from the rest of the site. We didn’t find ourselves waiting around long for a poker game to start, the community is as active as ever. Betfred’s regular tournaments keep the poker community active, and they update tourney listings often, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for what’s new.
One feature that really stood out to us was the shared poker rooms. These let you play alongside people from other sites, which definitely spices things up. It’s not every day you’re pitted against a larger pool of players, and this setup keeps the action going, especially when the site is busy. Of course, you’ll have to agree to some additional terms when joining these rooms, but it’s worth it for the extra competition and atmosphere it brings.
The live casino at Betfred is pretty well done, with 90 live dealer games on the table, all powered by Playtech. This selection includes blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and game shows.
I really liked Quantum Roulette for its unique multiplier feature, even if it is a bit slower than regular roulette. Blackjack Surrender is probably my favourite, it has one of the best RTP rates, and the interface is really well-designed.

Best Betfred’s Live Casino Games
Betfred Casino’s lotto section, which has over 90 instant win games, is something you don’t see every day in online casinos that mostly focus on slots or sports betting. They’ve got a ton of international lottery draws, which makes for a pretty solid lotto action, be you are a newcomer or have played lotto for a long time. The fact that you can bet on all sorts of international lotteries, like the Irish Lotto and the 49s, really makes it special compared to other UK gambling sites.
One thing I really like about the lotto section is how well it fits in with everything else on the site. It doesn’t feel like they just included it as an afterthought. The interface is nice and clean, easy to use, and looks a lot like the other Betfred gambling sections. There’s this handy lotto selection bar on the left side of the screen that makes it super easy to switch between different draws.
Jordan Conroy Editor
The range of draws they’ve got is pretty cool. You’ve got your well-known lotteries, but they’ve also thrown in some more niche international ones like Greek, Canadian, and Australian draws. They’ve also got this little lotto mini-FAQ section, which is great if you’re new to all this, though it could use a bit more info for people who’ve been doing this for a while.
They’ve also got both traditional draws and those instant-win scratch cards, all in the Lotto section. The scratch cards are right there in the same place, so if you don’t feel like waiting around for the next lotto draw or lotto results, you can just have a quick go at one of those.
I was pretty pleased with how well the Betfred Lotto works on your phone, too. They’ve got this dedicated lotto app for iOS that makes it dead easy to get at your favourite draws when you’re out and about. Even if you don’t want to bother with downloading the app, the mobile site works just fine and gives you all the same stuff. It doesn’t matter if you’re on your computer or your phone; everything runs nicely.

Top Betfred’s Lotto Games
Football Scratch is one of the more interesting ones, but if you like games with more interaction, you might find it gets a bit samey after a while.
Jordan Conroy Editor
Given Betfred’s bonus streak, it’s not a surprise that they have prepared a newbie deal for lotto, and the rules couldn’t be simpler. You just use the promo code for Betfred’s lotto deal 5DRAW when you sign up, wager a £1 bet on any lotto draw, and they’ll give you £5 in free bets plus 20 free scratch cards. Once again, there aren’t any wagering requirements on the Betfred free bets or scratch cards, so not much work is required if you see your combination in the lottery results.
One little downside is that you’ve got to make the qualifying deposit with a debit card, which completely excludes ewallets from qualifying.
Betfred’s bingo offerings are pretty solid, too, the virtue of bingo software from Playtech, aka Virtue Fusion. They’ve got over 10 bingo rooms and a bunch of online bingo games as a bonus. You can find all sorts of bingo games here: 90-ball, 80-ball, 75-ball, 50-ball, 40-ball, and even 36-ball bingo, plus themed rooms like Rainbow Riches Bingo and Fluffy Favourites Bingo, both based on the popular slots under the same names. There’s also Age of the Gods Bingo, which has some neat animations. Some of the most popular rooms include Deal or No Deal Bingo, Extreme Bingo and Betfred Bunker.
One thing to note, though – they don’t have slingo, which is a popular mix of slots and bingo. If that’s your thing, you might be a bit disappointed.
Getting around the bingo lobby is pretty easy, but one thing that could be better is how they’ve organised the bingo games. At the moment, bingo rooms are mixed in with slots and other games all on a single page, which can be a bit confusing when you’re trying to find a specific bingo game. On the brighter side, each room’s thumbnail shows you important stuff like how long until the next game starts, how many people are playing, the minimum bet, and the prize pool. It’s really helpful for deciding which room to join.

Variety and Types of Bingo Games at Betfred
What we really liked about Betfred Bingo is how they’ve set it up for people to chat. They’ve got these dedicated chat rooms where players can talk to each other during the sessions, which really adds more fun. The chat was pretty welcoming, with moderators keeping an eye on things and friendly players that made it all feel a bit more personal and fun.
Betfred’s also got plenty of guides and rules for Deal or No Deal, Extreme Bingo, and Betfred Bunkernew players, which is always nice to see, as well as a video tutorial for new players. It makes it easy to get started if you’re new, but there are still some tips there for people who’ve been playing for ages.
Betfred Bingo has also got a good bunch of promotions just for bingo players, and there are actually quite a lot of them. These promotions change pretty regularly, so there’s usually something new to check out.
Betfred’s bingo joining offer is another simple but pretty good deal for new players. If you stake £10 on any bingo room, you get a £10 Bingo Bonus straight away that you can use in any room. The bonus only has a 1x wagering requirement, which means it’s pretty easy to turn your winnings into real cash you can take out.
The Bonus Back promotion is a nice little earner for regular bingo players. You just enter the Betfred bingo bonus code LEAVES and wager £5+ on bingo tickets throughout the week, and you can get 5% back on all your stakes, up to £25 max, which you get as a Bingo Bonus. This promotion runs every week, from Monday to Sunday, and they add the bonus to your account on the following Monday. While 5% might not sound like much at first, if you play bingo regularly, it adds up over time, giving you a nice little boost without much effort. And just like with the Welcome Deal, the wagering requirement is capped just at 1x.
Betfred’s also got this clever crossover promotion called Thanks a Slot, which is good for players who like both bingo and slots. You enter the code THANKS and bet £10 or more on any of the featured slot games in the bingo section, and you’ll get a slot bonus that can be up to £10, depending on how much you wagered in total. But keep in mind, the bonus does come with a 10x wagering requirement, which is lower than the standard for slot promotions, but it might seem a bit high when compared to other deals on Betfred.
One of the best promotions at Betfred Bingo is Fred’s Free Bingo, which gives players three chances every day to play free games. All you need to do to unlock this bonus is spend £1 on any bingo tickets, and you’re sorted for a week of free access. Our team likes that the featured bingo sessions are spread out through the day: you get morning, noon, and night 1-hour sessions, with 10 free games in each.
In total, there’s a daily prize pool of £210.66 to be won, which isn’t massive, but it could be a great way to have a bit of fun without spending anything. If you’re not satisfied with those rewards, though, the Superbooks feature may be what you’re looking for. While the free games are guaranteed, if you go for Superbooks, you can compete for a much larger prize pool, which can go up to £800 and unlock a chance to win a £500 fixed community jackpot. Best of all, the Superbook pool doesn’t replace the regular prize pool, meaning you can win something from a £1,000 total prize pot.
Following the rest of the bingo deals, this one, too, comes with a 1x wagering requirement on any winnings.
If you’re after bigger wins, the Bingolinx games are definitely worth a look. These daily and weekly games happen in Betfred’s Evening Extravaganza and Friday Night Frenzy rooms, offering much larger prize pools. The daily Evening Extravaganza is at 22:00 UK time and has a £5,000 prize pool, with tickets costing just 10p. On Fridays, it gets even better with the Friday Night Frenzy, where players compete for a £15,000 prize pool, with tickets costing an incredibly low 2p. In my view, you should check Bingolinx out at least once on one of your weekends.
For new players, Betfred Bingo’s Rookie Room is a fantastic way to start playing bingo, even if you didn’t do it before. It’s only available to new customers and gives you 10 days of free bingo access from the moment you first log into the bingo lobby. During these 10 days, the Rookie Room opens twice daily – once in the afternoon and once in the evening – giving you 10 free games per hour.
While the prize pots in these games are small, at just £2 per game, the Rookie Room is more about learning how everything works than hitting big wins. It’s a great introduction for anyone who’s new to online bingo and wants to build confidence before trying out the regular rooms.
We found the format of 10 games per hour keeps things moving at a comfortable pace, which gives new players an extra reason to explore more rooms once they’ve gotten used to how everything works. It’s an excellent starting point, even if the rewards aren’t huge.
Star of the Show brings more sparkling bingo action to the table by giving players access to the exclusive Red Carpet room. To qualify, you need to wager a total of £10 on bingo tickets between Monday and Saturday. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to join the Red Carpet room every Sunday for 10 free games, each with a £10 prize pot.
This is complemented by interactive chat games within the room. Players can join in chat-hosted quizzes with a chance to win an extra £2 bingo bonus per quiz. We really liked this part of the promotion, as it adds a social element that’s often missing in online bingo.
The Bingo Linx games, which you can play daily at various times in the Betfred Bunker room, offer one of the best value-for-money opportunities on the site. With ticket prices ranging from just 2p to 10p and hourly/daily prize pools that range from £500 to £5,000, these games give you plenty of chances to win without having to spend much. For players who like to plan ahead, Betfred’s pre-buy option is really useful. This lets you buy tickets in advance, so you don’t miss out on the biggest games. We think this feature is a real highlight, as it’s convenient for those who might not be able to log in exactly when the games are running but still want to play.
Betfred also has a Refer a Friend promotion, which is one of the easiest ways to earn extra bonuses. For every friend you refer who signs up, deposits, and bets £5 on bingo tickets, you get a £15 bingo bonus. The process is really simple: you fill out the necessary details after your friend registers, and once they meet the requirements, you get your bonus. On top of that, there’s no limit to how many friends you can refer, which makes this a potentially lucrative promotion if you’ve got a bunch of mates who like bingo.
Worth mentioning that this bonus comes with a 2x wagering requirement for both. Still, clearing it is easy enough for regular players. However, one small drawback is the 48-hour expiration window for the bonus, which could be a bit tight for some.
All in all, we believe Betfred Casino does a pretty good job with its gambling section. The variety is nice, the interface is well done, and everything works like it should. They could definitely add more providers and a provider filter, but overall, it’s a competitive offering.
Betfred has brought decades of physical bookmaking experience to the Internet and created its own online Sportsbook, which is undoubtedly the most developed Betfred sector of all. With over 1,000 shops across the UK backing their online presence, Betfred offers something unique, a mix of digital and in-person betting that many purely online bookies can’t match. No wonder they often sponsor big sports like snooker and darts with rather good coverage on top. Sure, the odds might not be the best out there, but they are more like average, and all the bonuses and features compensate for that.
Betfred’s sportsbook is very easy to use; everything is laid out in a way that makes sense. You can quickly move between the main sportsbook, virtual sports, and tote bets. The bet slip, cash-out section, and bet history are right there on the right side of the page. This setup helped us keep track of multiple bets at once. On the left, you’ll find all the sports markets. The middle of the page shows what’s coming up soon, live betting options, boosted prices, and current offers. And when you select the sports market, a menu specific to that market will pop up. For one, football has Competitions, Betfred football coupons, Betfred Specials, In-Play and Featured section while some niche markets just get half of these (or similar) filtering options.
Betfred covers a lot of sports. Of course, there are big ones like football, horse racing, and basketball. But they also let you bet on less common sports like snooker and darts, as well as do some golf betting. We even saw options for betting on political events, which was interesting.
One thing we noticed was missing: esports betting. That might disappoint some bettors who want to bet on their favourite esport teams.
Still, Betfred makes up for it with their virtual sports section. They have simulated events for football, horse racing, and greyhound racing, plus plenty of deals specifically for virtuals.
One thing that stood out to me was Betfred’s #PickYourPunt feature. This lets you create your own bets by combining different things from the same game. It often gives you better odds, too, it’s not something I’ve seen on many other sportsbooks. I also found their Betfred Insight blog helpful, as it gives predictions and talks about betting trends, which newcomers might find more than just helpful.

Betfred offers lots of different types of bets, you have quite a variety of both singles and multiples here. Just be aware that not all types may be eligible for each game.
Some of the best options you have:
The live betting on Betfred works well, I placed bets on several tennis games while they were happening. It’s easy to see how the odds change as the game goes on, which helps you spot good bets. I really liked that they have live streaming for some sports. Being able to watch the game right there on Betfred while I was betting made the whole thing more fun. The only problem I had was that sometimes during busy times, the betting slip took a bit longer to load. But it wasn’t a big deal overall.

For people who like horse racing, Betfred does something extra. Each race has detailed info about the horses’ past performances, information about the jockeys, and statistics about the trainers. They also guarantee the best racing odds on all UK and Irish horse races, which means you’ll get the best possible payout on your bets. You can also easily see which races the casino is paying from the horse racing homepage; this changes daily, so it’s nice to have quick access to this info.
I’m not big on horse racing myself, but I can see why people who are into it would like this feature. On top of that, they have radio commentary for horse and greyhound racing, as well as cricket.
Jordan Conroy Editor
Another useful feature at Betfred Sportsbook is cashout. While it’s not available for all games, when it’s eligible, you can end your bets early, before the event has finished. We used this a few times to lock in profits when our bets were winning. The process was simple, and the amounts offered for cashing out seemed fair based on how the event was going.
Betfred’s sportsbook offers more than just betting markets. They’ve got a bunch of bonuses that make sports betting more interesting. These deals work for both new and existing bettors, giving everyone a chance to get a bit extra.
Newcomers at Betfred Sportsbook have an option to use a Bet £10, Get £50 offer as a jumpstart. To receive the freebies, you need to deposit at least £10 using a Debit Card and make a bet of at least £10 at odds of 2.0 or higher within a week of signing up. If you did everything correctly, you will receive three £10 Sports Free Bets and two £10 Acca Free Bets after your bet is settled, which makes it £50 of bets in total.
Just remember, you can’t use ewallets for this offer, as they are only for traditional debit cards.
Betfred puts a lot of focus on football betting, and their Acca Flex promotion is proof of that. You qualify as long as you make pre-match accumulators with five or more picks, each at odds of 1/2 or higher per leg. When all your picks win, Betfred adds a cash bonus of up to 100% to what you’ve won. If just one of your picks loses, Betfred gives you back your stake in cash, up to £10. This takes away some of the worry that comes with accumulator betting.
Football fans might be interested in the Double Delight & Hat-trick Heaven promo. It works like this: you bet on who will score first in certain matches before they start. If your player scores once, you get your normal payout. If they score again, Betfred doubles your payout. And if they score a third time, your payout is tripled. You can use this for bets placed before the match or during play, so you can bet before kickoff or as you watch the game. The best thing about this deal is that you get real cash, not free bets that come with lots of rules, so it might be worth it to put your guessing game to the test.
Rugby league fans get their own version of the Double Delight promotion. It’s called Super League Double Delight, and it works a lot like the football one. You bet on who will score the first try in certain 2024 Super League matches before they start. If your player scores the first try and then scores another one, Betfred doubles the odds on your original bet. Like the football deal, you get paid in real cash. This is great for rugby league fans who are good at guessing which players will score tries.
Betfred also has prepared a 10% Winning Tricast Bonus for greyhound racing fans. In a Tricast bet, you pick the first three dogs in the right order. If all your picks run and win, Betfred gives you an extra 10% on top of your winnings. The bonus comes as cash, not a free bet, so you can use it however you want without having to bet it again. It’s a good way to get more out of your bets if you like greyhound racing, which is still big in the UK.
If you like virtual sports, Betfred has a Free Bet Club. You opt-in and bet £20 or more on five different scheduled Virtual Sports events from Monday to Thursday. Do this, and you get £5 in Free Bets on Friday. It’s easy to join in, and with virtual sports happening every few minutes, you have lots of chances to place qualifying bets.
Betfred also has a Virtual Weekly Rewards promotion for people who bet on virtual sports a lot and want to capitalise more on it. If you bet £250 or more on Virtual Scheduled Sports in a single week, you get 5% of what you bet back in Free Bets, up to £100. With virtual horse racing, greyhound racing, and football always running, this promotion can add up if you prefer virtual sports to real ones.
Horse racing is a big deal at Betfred, and you can also see it from their promo lineup – horse racing gets a lot of deals. The Lucky Bonus is popular among people who like making accumulator-style bets like Lucky 15, 31, or 63 on horse racing, greyhounds, or virtual events. If all your picks in these bets are right, Betfred gives you cash bonuses of up to 25% on top of your winnings. This makes these bets more appealing, as you could win a lot more. These bonuses work for both real and virtual races, making them really good for people who focus on horse racing or greyhounds.
Another good bonus for real horse racing is the Multiply Your Odds promotion. This helps when only one of your picks in a Lucky 15, 31, or 63 bet wins. Instead of getting just a small payout, Betfred boosts the odds by up to five times. This means that even with one winner, you could still get a good payout. It makes accumulator betting less risky, giving you something even when most of your picks don’t win.
Betfred also has a 10% Winning Tricast Bonus for Tricast bets. If all your picks in a Tricast bet win, you get an extra 10% in cash on your winnings. With Tricast bets, chances aren’t that great, but if racing results align with your predictions, you can receive a rather substantial boost. These deals are just a few of the many promos Betfred has in store for horse racing.
Betfred’s sportsbook is a highlight of their betting service. The mix of sports you can bet on is noteworthy, with something for every kind of player. I liked how well the live betting choices, market options, and how easy it is to browse the website. Horse racing is clearly a big focus, with tons of deals for the racing events, as well as radio commentary just for horse/greyhound racing. Even though it seems Betfred has a favourite, the sportsbook feels well-rounded overall. The live streaming for some events is a pleasant surprise, and the variety of bets available means you’re not stuck with just the basics – you can get creative with your betting if you want to. I give it a rating of 4 out of 5. While it’s not perfect, they could add esports betting and pump odds for some markets a bit for one. We at Gamblizard think that Betfred’s sportsbook is a good choice for most people who love sports betting.
Betfred has done a pretty good job bringing its desktop package to mobile. The casino website runs nicely on mobile browsers – nothing surprising there. The interface is clean, with a top bar giving quick access to casino, live casino, poker, and lotto. Besides that, you get two dedicated apps here: one for sports betting and casino games and another just for lotto.
I tried the Android general app for this review, but from what I’ve heard, the iOS version shouldn’t be any different.
Jordan Conroy Editor
It’s quick to download Betfred app, and it really doesn’t take up much space, about 75 MB, which is pretty small compared to other casino apps. In terms of performance, the app holds up well. Games usually load within 4 to 10 seconds on Wi-Fi, depending on how complex they are, and they run without any noticeable lag once you’re in. This applies to both slot games and live casinos, which tend to be more demanding.
One thing that might split opinions is the promotional pop-ups that show up during the gamble. Some might like being updated on offers, while others could find them a bit distracting.
The only actual issue I ran into was when I tried opening the roulette lobby, and the app froze. Closing and reopening it fixed the problem, but it’s not the kind of thing you want to deal with while playing.
Jordan Conroy Editor
As for the other features, you can reach Live Chat, FAQ, and T&Cs with one or two taps; the most important links are easily accessible.
I didn’t notice any of these lagging too, text was displayed properly, and everything loaded fast.
Jordan Conroy Editor
If apps aren’t your thing, the mobile browser version works just as well. It offers the same features without requiring you to download anything. We actually found ourselves switching between the two and didn’t notice any real differences overall.

Betfred Casino Mobile Apps
Betfred’s mobile casino left us with a pretty good opinion. It manages to squeeze in most of the desktop goodies without feeling cluttered. The slots and live casino games ran well, and everything loaded up quickly. Sure, our expert hit a problem when the roulette lobby froze once, and those promo pop-ups were quite annoying, but those aren’t major dealbreakers. What really stood out was how the game selection mirrored the desktop version – that’s a big plus in the Gamblizard book. The separate apps for lotto and casino might be a bit of a juggling act if you’re into both, but you can always use the mobile browser version if that bothers you. Overall, Betfred’s mobile casino is not perfect, but it’s reliable, user-friendly, and does the trick when you’re itching for a game away from your computer.
Betfred’s got a pretty decent setup when it comes to cashing out. Their minimum withdrawal is just £5, which matches their deposit minimum, a rare but much-welcome sight. Betfred also doesn’t charge any fees for withdrawals. What you withdraw is what you get, so no nasty surprises. Of course, this doesn’t include currency conversions, but they have made it clear in their terms.
| Withdrawal Method | Commission Fees | Min. Withdrawal | Withdrawal Processing Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visa | No fees | £5 | 1–3 business days |
| MasterCard | No fees | £5 | 1–3 business days |
| Visa Fast Funds | No fees | £5 | Up to 3 hours |
| Neteller | No fees | £5 | 0–1 business days |
| Skrill | No fees | £5 | 0–1 business days |
| PayPal | No fees | £5 | 0–1 business days |
| Bank Transfer | No fees | N/A | 2 business days |
Withdrawal Methods Table
To withdraw your winnings, simply head to account page, click “Withdraw,” and pick your method of choice. They suggest using the same method you used for depositing, which makes sense to avoid any issues along the way. Now all you need to do is wait. You have to go through the pending period that can last from 24 to 48 hours and then it depends on the cashout method you used.
As to how long does Betfred withdrawal take, you should receive money on debit cards in one to three business days, but you can also use their Visa Fast Funds service, which can shorten that time to as little as three hours. Ewallet users have got it easy as they’ll sort out your withdrawal within a day at most. You can always check up on your withdrawal status in the account menu.
I decided to test this out myself and withdrew £10 using PayPal. The money showed up in balance in just a couple of hours, which I was pleased with. The method that will take you the longest by far is the bank transfers, those can take two business days on average, and that’s on the shorter side of things.
Jordan Conroy Editor
Now, Betfred is upfront about the fact that there might be further delays due to security checks. These could add up to 48 hours to your withdrawal time.
I didn’t run into any delays when I made my withdrawal, but it’s good to know it could happen. They also do these Know Your Customer checks. When I took out my tenner, they didn’t ask for any extra verification, but they might for larger amounts or different withdrawal methods. It’s a good idea to have your ID docs ready, just in case.

Betfred’s £5 minimum withdrawal is a real winner in our book, and not having to deal with fees is always a plus. Ewallets are definitely the way to go if you’re after speed, but even the debit card and bank transfer options don’t take too much time. While there’s always room for more payment options, Betfred’s system gets the job done as it is.
Betfred offers 5 ways to get assistance, including live chat, email, and phone support. We put each of these methods to the test to gauge their effectiveness. While the range of options is decent, there are some flaws one should consider.
The live chat is available 24/7, which is great, but there’s a catch. Before you can speak with an actual person, you have to interact with a chatbot. This can be a bit annoying if you’re in a hurry to get help. Once we got through to a human agent, though, the service was pretty decent.
I gave it a go at about 00:30 AM to ask a few questions about Betfred welcome bonus eligibility, and within a few minutes, I was chatting with someone. The agent was courteous and professional, asking me a few basic questions about my account to verify everything was in order with my welcome deal. The entire process, from start to finish, took roughly ten minutes.

Next up was the phone support. Betfred provides two separate numbers: one for UK customers and another for international callers. You can call their phone number from 8 AM to 8 PM UK time only, you won’t get assistance outside these hours.
I dialled the UK customer service number +4408000287747 in the afternoon and was connected to an agent quickly after answering a few automated questions. The representative once again had to verify account details with a few security questions before proceeding with my question. Still, the agent was friendly. If I had to send some documents, they would refer me to their chat or email instead.
Jordan Conroy Editor
We also gave the email support a try. Betfred’s email address [email protected] isn’t as fast as chat or phone is.
For me, it took about two hours to receive a response. One frustrating aspect was the inability to simply click and copy the email address – it attempted to open Outlook instead, which was annoying as I use web-based email. I had to manually type the address. When I finally received a reply, it was professional despite everything, so there were no complaints to the agents there, the system is to blame.
Jordan Conroy Editor
Keep in mind that Betfred only responds to emails sent from the registered email address on the account, so double-check everything if you don’t want your question to get ignored.

Betfred’s Customer Support Channels
Betfred also gives links to their social media accounts – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram – in the website’s footer. While we wouldn’t recommend using these as your go-to method for getting help, they’re good for keeping up with news and making small inquiries. It’s nice to see these up and running even after so many years, though.
You can access the FAQ section via the “Help” bubble in the bottom left corner of the site, it is basic but functional. The FAQ on Betfred covers nine different categories, though only about half of them directly address casino-related questions. Some areas, like deposits and withdrawals, provide a fair amount of information, while others, like account verification, are somewhat lacking. There’s a search function which helps locate relevant topics.
Sadly, for more complex issues, the FAQ falls short, and most players will likely need to reach out to live support for anything beyond basic questions.
Betfred customer service’s doing a lot right, but there’s still potential to elevate their service to the next level. Nevertheless, as it is now, Betfred’s support system is reliable enough for most players’ needs.
As already mentioned, Betfred’s got over a thousand betting shops sprinkled around the UK; nearly every Brit probably came across their logo and adverts at some point. These are the real places where people can bet money on sports like football, horse racing, and greyhounds. You’ll usually find TVs showing live sports and plenty of info on the latest odds there, depending on the size of the store. If you’re looking for extra places today to bet near you, Betfred’s website has a handy shop locator tool. While online betting is big these days, these physical shops are still going strong for people who like the old-school way of having a flutter.

List of Betfred Shops
Betfred has everything from casino games and bingo to lotto and virtual sports. The site has around 3,000 nicely sorted games, including various bingo rooms and regular poker tournaments. A lot of the casino’s promotions don’t come with wagering requirements, and new players have a chance to pick a welcome bonus for each game category.
We’ve spent a good chunk of time on Betfred, and it’s clear they’re doing a lot right. The site’s easy to use, and the licensing gives you some peace of mind (even with their past). Betfred’s not perfect. But weighing it all up, it’s a solid bet. For us, it’s a 4.2 out of 5.

liked the PayPal cashout here. It was pretty quick, no drama, and honestly felt easier than I expected... nice when a withdrawal doesn’t turn into a whole thing.

all good overall, the only issue for me was that i did not get the free bets that were promised when i opened the account and placed my bets. apart from that, the site was fine to use.

I understand the rules on payment methods, but after depositing around £400 with my husband’s PayPal, I won £600 and the account was closed, so the withdrawal was not paid.

the site feels stable. However, when it came to withdrawing, the process was slower than I expected and involved additional document checks. It’s not terrible overall, but the payout process could definitely be better.

After a couple of weeks, my account was suddenly suspended and then closed without any clear explanation. I called customer support, and the representative simply blocked the account during the call. Still have no idea why this happened.

What a mess! Deposited over £2,000 in like 11 transactions in just a few hours, thinkin’ everything was fine. Then they tell me I’ve got multiple accounts (??) and there’s a GamStop ban on me! Seriously, why let me deposit if that’s the case? The whole ID and verification thing feels like a joke.
